I know it is not a proxy war. I know Ukrainian soldiers and what motivates them. Many of the Russian BMPs and BTRs taken out by Ukrainians were not taken out by modern weapons but by Soviet era RPGs and other rather close-range dumb rockets. Ukraine has lots of its own weapons and Russia has surrendered many more during its withdrawals. My family in the Donbas knows what is going on and they hate the invaders. You hate freedom-loving people.
