One difference between 2001 and 2023 is the dramatic increase in mistrust of the government in this country. The distrust would be highest among conservative white males, the ones who have historically fought American wars.

Unfortunately, it’s likely the CIA is responsible for some or all of the sabotage type missions claimed. I don’t know what’s going on over there right in Russia due to the desperation of the Ukrainian propaganda effort (they’re losing), but if it’s in-country, it’s likely CIA and if Putin finds out, then NATO and Biden have a better chance at starting the war they ‘need’.
There’s not a lot of money to be made in what is becoming more of an artillery war but you can steal hundreds of billions rebuilding a country. For this reason, I believe the West will become more motivated to end the war. That’s a cynical view but it’s a cynical world.

No the Russians won. They rolled right over Ukraine and the west could do nothing because of gas and Putin threats of nukes. That is why Russian cities are blowing up, because of the great victory and their mighty economy.

Nothing new. We supplied the Mujahideen in the Russo-Afghan War throughout the ‘80s. But of course that created a whole new monster…
NATO and the U.S have shipped a massive amount of weapons and equipment to Ukraine via Poland over the last week. Massive amount.
The war isn’t ending anytime soon which is why Putin is going to declare martial law and close the borders and order another mobilization in less than a week.
And Moscow and St. Petersburg mall rats and tiktok’ers won’t be exempt from forced conscription.
Right Russians should not die in wars they start. That is just so wrong.

This thread is a prime example of why, despite wanting to know what’s going on with Russia & Ukraine, that I can’t get a clear picture. “Sources” and “media” are completely one-sided, and Freepers seem hell-bent on fighting it out with other Freepers. Just a sad state of affairs here.
With next week’s mobilization, Putin is going to lock down the bank cards of the forced conscriptees. Just like Canada did to the truckers.

Well supposedly when Biden sent Ukraine billions worth of long-range missiles and HIMARS he made them promise too only use them in the war zone and NOT to target anything in Russia proper, as some had nearly a 500km range. Well, it appears Ukraine, now that they have all the weaponry, might have decided to “alter the terms of the deal”.
I expect the war to come here soon and hopefully the first victims will be the puppet masters. /spit
The puppet masters will have long absconded with OUR tax/investment $$s, and, will have fled to their secluded bunkers....halfway across the world, by then.
