Kindly submit chapter and verse. Please not this one, however:
“And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned” (Genesis 21:8).
If that is your proof, you might want to look up the word “weaned.” How many thirteen year old males to you know that are still feeding at the teat?

I teach Confirmation and the students can still choose a different saint’s name in our diocese.

Orthodox and liturgical Protestant churches have confirmation for young people. One difference is that Orthodox Jews do not have bat mitzvahs for their girls, while all Christian churches that have confirmation offer it to both sexes. To Catholocs, Orthodox, and liturgical Protestants, infant baptism has a role similar to circumcision in Judaism, but the Christian churches baptize both sexes, whereas the Jewish equivalent is obviously for males only. However, while Christian baptism, like Jewish circumcision, represents an entry into the covenant community, Catholics believe that baptism removes the mark of original sin.

As a Catholic I really respect and am in awe of the young Jewish men that have to learn and recite so much of the Torah for their Bar Mitzvah.
