FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A man accused of shoplifting clothes from a South Florida store in early December became angry when he realized the store’s front door had been locked, authorities said.
According to a news release from the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the man entered a Rainbow clothing store in Lauderdale Lakes at about 8:15 p.m. EST on Dec. 7.
Surveillance camera footage showed the man browsing through the store for about 30 minutes before he attempted to leave the store with an armful of clothing.
The man, wearing a black-and-white jacket, black pants and black hat, is shown kicking the door and slamming against it, the Miami Herald reported.
Unknown to the alleged shoplifter, the store was about to close and employees had locked the door, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies said the man could have simply unlocked the door and left with the clothes, the Herald reported. The surveillance video showed a worker trying to open the door so the man could leave, according to the newspaper.
The man, still agitated, dropped the clothes and allegedly shoved an employee to the ground before running outside and fleeing in a red truck, the Herald reported. Police believe approximately $200 in merchandise was taken.

Uh oh, the Clapper Caper is coming from someone. LOL
Lauderdale Lakes, figures.
Domestic or imported diversity?
This one is an easy one. Rainbow clothing stores are hip-hop fashion, so even with the usual non description, I already knew. Once he ran back and took the clothes that the employee had removed from the “shopper”, it gets bumped up to strongarm robbery. If caught, he’ll do time in DeSantis Land.
