An aggressive Vladimir Putin set himself on a collision course with the West in his New Year's message to his people.
He showed no inkling of compromise over Ukraine claiming he made 'necessary decisions' in a catastrophic military conflict which has led to 100,000 deaths on his own side.
But Putin, 70, looked strained and worn as he addressed Russians on television in each of the country's 11 time zones just before midnight.
His message was also tired, again claiming he was taking on Nazis in Ukraine and that the West wanted to use Ukraine as a tools to destroy Russia.
He coughed at several points, and appeared weary and aged in a message broadcast, as his missiles pounded in horrific attacks Ukraine even as people prepared to mark the new year.

My sympathies are with Russia. Sad to say that the USA is now the axis of evil in the world, led by warmongers and sexual perverts, murdering babies and sexually mutilating confused children, spreading the progressive poison throughout the world, seeking a one world government as their long game, to rule the world. Russia is not perfect but it is a Christian nation-50 years of communism could not destroy that.

Joe Biden could not pull this off even if he consumed Zelensky’s weekly dose of cocaine. Putin is coherent and in command of facts.
It would be one thing if the Western propaganda effort was focused solely on ridiculing and trying to foment opposition inside Russia to Vladimir Putin. But it is not. Western propaganda is demonizing all things Russian — e.g., literature, art, chess, sports figures, and actors and actresses. This approach is not creating a reservoir of good will towards the West. Just the opposite. It is fortifying Russian nationalism and solidifying support for Putin.
This is just one more piece of evidence that Western intelligence agencies have become a toxic, venal clown show. A professional, competent intelligence agency would use propaganda to support a broader strategic goal. So what is the “strategic goal” in attacking all things Russian? Pissing off the Russian people does not strike me as a recipe for bringing Russia under the control of the West. It also fails to provide the answer to the question, “Who replaces Putin?”

Probably his wife and daughter, not the one he told her to have aborted, because he really wants a son. So glad he is such an upright and religious leader./s Glad he runs such a happy country that has the highest abortion rate in the world—over 50 per 1000 women per year. Two and one half times the US rate. I guess Russian women are having so much fun they don’t want to be tied down by childcare burdens. Or maybe they don’t don’t want to spend almost 2 decades raising a child only to have him sent to a stupid war with inadequate food, clothes, and leadership to serve as cannon fodder. Its great to have such sterling leaders.
