A Crimean Tatar American decided to construct Mariupol — a war-torn city symbolizing Ukrainian resistance against Russian aggression. Quite unusual gingerbread houses show the scenes of the bombed-out drama theatre, the maternity hospital after a Russian strike, and the steelworks construction.

“This is bravery to me,” she said. “They are a steel people with nerves of steel.”

It is not the first time Velida has raised awareness about the Russian war in Ukraine in such a creative way. In 2014, Velida created the Khan’s Palace in Crimea to speak out about the temporarily occupied Crimea. 🇺🇦

Oh, quite the opposite ... every day this drags on shows what a total doofus Putin is

consider, in just over 10 months, he has -

- alienated Russia internationally
- showed Russian military equipment as inferior
- lost European O & G markets, formerly Russia's biggest money-maker
- had 100,000 Russian troops killed, all for meagre gains
- wrecked the Russian economy with sanctions and the (unexpected) flight of 1,000,000 able-bodied, skilled people

Russia was actually in a fairly privileged spot on Feb. 22nd ... and Putin threw it all away

and for what?

that's not smart behavior, that's a selfish, destructive idiot in charge
