@NationalFile

EXCLUSIVE:

Incoming freshman @VoteAPL is generally opposed to any potential GOP leader as speaker who would retain Nancy Pelosi's House Rules, including the "Motion to Vacate the Chair."

#NeverKevin

"A motion to vacate (with realistic guidelines) is one of the top criteria that I have for any speaker that is seeking to earn my vote. This means as close to the original Jeffersonian motion as possible."

"Our founding fathers had an idea about how congress should function. Too much consolidation of power is dangerous."

"We're already seeing that play out in the Senate. The speaker NEEDS to be held accountable to the representatives."

"Anything north of a 50/50 motion to vacate is a no vote for me."

ANNA PAULINA LUNA

Representative-Elect Florida's 13th Congressional District

That's 6 on the record. He can ill afford to lose that freshman's vote.

He's got to change his mind on keeping Pelosi's rules, surely??

OK, what’s a motion to vacate?

They’ll have the speaker step down and then they’ll vote on a replacement.

It’s how they dumped Boehner.

Under the rules any member can call a vote to fire the speaker.

Pelosi got rid of it and conservatives want it back.

McCarthy will get in. He’s made a deal with some dims to get a handful of votes if necessary. If not, let the game begin!!! Screw the uniparty.

Well, Kevin, looks like the sand’s gettin a little bit low in the Hour Glass, don’t it?

How about you just resigning with dignity and grace, then announcing you want to...how does that line go?

Oh...You want to ‘spend more time with your family’.
Yeah, that’s the ticket!
You will serve as ‘interim’ Majority Leader until April 2nd or until a new leader has been elected.

I think it has something to do with the house being able to vacate the speakership IF the speaker doesn’t follow what the constituents expect of him, the house would then vote to remove him as speaker!!

The REAL QUESTION is why does McCarthy fear letting his people vote on whether to replace him?

I can only think of one reason - which is that he has no intention to do what he’s promised.

Naaa, can’t be that, no Republican would ever do that. No, never.

I hope you’ll be watching with interest Lee.

Looks like it’s going to be a circus.

The RINOs have always told conservatives to suck it up for the good of the party. Now Kevin should do the right thing but he seems hell bent on taking it to a vote and being embarrassed in front of the nation....

Sorry, but he’ll cut a deal for some Dem votes and be speaker in exchange for pushing some democrat bills through.

The uniparty is not going to give up power because a few folks don’t like it.

I fear that Kevin McCarthy would turn into a Paul Ryno type Speaker.

McCarthy will get in. He’s made a deal with some dims to get a handful of votes if necessary.

If he gets rejected by his own caucus and elevated to the role with democrat votes he will have no authority to lead the GOP caucus. It will be a very hollow victory for his ego alone, and would result in a neutered Speaker. Which is why the dems would love it to play out that way.

I’ve said that before.

If anyone thinks that Jefferies is the one leading the Democrats, they need to have their head examined. He might be the mouthpiece, but she’s still running that side of the isle.

The Dems would rather have McCarthy because they know he’ll fold and tell us that there are more important things to deal with.

So, she’ll identify enough Democrats from ‘Purple’ areas that will vote for him in the interest of bipartisanship.

Kevin needs to claim that PRyno was the worst Speaker ever and he will do the opposite of what PRyno would do.

Or maybe a Robin Vos (Wisconsin speaker of the House) where he back stabs real conservatives.

The REAL QUESTION is why does McCarthy fear letting his people vote on whether to replace him?

Because he fears "Globohomo" more?
