Vladimir Putin's declining health was responsible for his pulling out of several planned events and appearances in December, it has been claimed.
Telegram channel General SVR, which purports to have insider sources in the Kremlin, said Putin's doctors recently noted a 'significant deterioration in his health' and recommended that he step away from appearances to rest.
'In December, following medical recommendations, the president canceled several traditional events and several visits,' the channel alleged.
Putin, who turned 70 this year, 'gets tired quickly', suffers 'frequent bouts of dizziness and headaches' and is also prone to 'clouding of consciousness', it added.
The stresses of his failing war in Ukraine are also taking a toll, it is claimed.
'Constant nervous tension and immersion in problems at the front created a negative environment for the course of [his] diseases.'
While the Russian president has appeared to be busy and today held a short video conference with Chinese leader Xi Jinping, he has cancelled planned appearances at a number of significant events.
These include the last minute pullout from a presidential trip to Pskov on December 28, which was officially blamed on 'unfavourable flying conditions' despite weather forecasts suggesting the skies were clear.
A week ago the Russian president was reported to have shelved a visit to Russia's biggest tank plant in Nizhny Tagil, in the Ural mountains, and also cancelled his usual appearance at an end of year meeting of his government ministers.
Putin refused to go-ahead with his traditional December press conference, which typically sees the president speak for up to four hours and field questions from journalists and viewers, and even cancelled his beloved end-of-year ice-hockey game.

I viewd a Ukrainian soldier in a hot battle envrionment today....trying to reach his buddy who got shot, then he got shot. He had a body cam on so you could even hear him struggle breathing and moans as h rached his hand out to get to his buddy......while all around them were gun shots and yelling.....they both died.
The same is happening on the Russian side....it’s all killing and death.

Zelkensky showed up on the front line in a Bakmut army base about five days ago. Then Ukrainian media taunted Russia that Putin was too chicken to visit Russian troops. You’ve gotta wonder if that Ukraine missile strike at the command building at Russian Angels air base a couple of days ago killed Putin.

Again: trying to draw a comparison between the Cold War and Russia v. Ukraine is categorically absurd.
Notwithstanding that the country which Ronald Reagan spoke of is a distant memory; the political and cultural institutions are under the thumb of the Deep State. And you’d trust them - staffed to a majority point that would see conservatives and traditionalists dead and buried - to administrate a war that’s in our national interest?

I just read through it before replying to you.
My point stands even more, because an Americs that would rather arm one corrupt country in a battle against another corrupt country, whilst LEGISLATIVELY FORBIDDING defense spending from going to **our own border security**, is an America that Reagan would not have recognized.
Some lifelong civilians have said that Putin’s replacement will be more aggressive against the West. But the more mad his replacement is, the less effective he will be with strategy. That’s what we want for the near term.
For Russia to be more free, happy and prosperous, Russia needs changes in government and culture.
Yes, Putin also is suffering from an outbreak of facial pimples and mild gout.
