Man Who Killed 16-Year-Old Girlfriend Is Sentenced To 90 Days In Jail
Holly Matkin December 28, 2022 Houston, TX – A 22-year-old man who fatally shot his 16-year-old girlfriend in the face last year will serve just 90 days in jail in connection with her death.
Alexander Valenzuela, then 20, was originally charged with murder in the April 16, 2021 shooting death of his 16-year-old girlfriend, Ciana “CiCi” Castro, KTRK reported.
Valenzuela agreed to plead guilty in October to a reduced charge of aggravated assault on a family member causing serious bodily injury.

Harris County District Court Judge Jason Luong handed down a shockingly lenient sentence on Dec. 13 of 90 days in the Harris County Jail and six years of deferred adjudication community supervision, KTRK reported.
Valenzuela was also ordered to attend at least 45 days of cognitive behavioral treatment at an intermediate sanctions facility, according to the news outlet.
The murdered teen’s parents said they were stunned and outraged when the sentence was handed down, KTRK reported.
Castro’s father had to be removed from the courtroom, the victim’s mother, Dulce Rodriguez, told the news outlet.

Rodriguez said that the judge allowed her to remain in the room, but that she was told she must quiet down.
Valenzuela’s defense attorney, Juan Guerra, said he also has two daughters and that he cannot “imagine the pain” Castro’s family has been going through, KTRK reported.
“A tragedy will never feel justified,” Guerra said. “The Valenzuela family and I pray they find peace.”
The incident occurred at the Valenzuela family’s home in the 11000-block of Smokehollow Court at approximately 6:45 p.m. on April 16, 2021, KHOU reported at the time.

According to court documents, Valenzuela shot Castro in the face and called 911 claiming the shooting was an accident, but investigators noted there were numerous inconsistencies with his account of how the shooting occurred.
Physical evidence recovered at the scene also did not support his claim that the shooting was an accident, according to KTRK.
Investigators said he ultimately refused to cooperate with them, as did his family, KTRK reported.
Some of the most beautiful people on the planet have the worst personalities. They are truly horrid to be around outside what you see externally. Not that this woman was but I find men go for the superficial then soon get buyer’s remorse.
It turns out that there are a lot of really really pretty girls. And, a lot of them have really low self esteem (as most young beauties do) from comparing themselves to the Hollywood or Nashville or Austin stars.
Cognitive dissonance takes over and they are compelled to be treated like (poorly) they feel on the inside. Hence, the pretty sixteen year old getting banged by the convenience store clerk with the neck tattoos.
This simple mechanism I learned from my psychology employed family members got me laid more than anyone I knew.
WTH? 90 days for an adult murderer.
My sense is this guy will be missing from the planet in less than one year after release.

That would answer the prayers of countless people, myself included.
Hopefully her dad will take care of this guy..
What passes for Justice in America today is a complete joke.

She was a beautiful young lady REALLY BEAUTIFUL, the guy is just not all that, WHY would she even consider going out with him??
The good Lord will take care of him in this life, he has to much time left on this earth for God to wait for satin to get his hands on him!!

Yeah, well even if she was as ugly as the “vice president” her murderer should still have been executed.
Here's hoping dad is waiting outside when the murderer is released.

He wasn’t tried for murder. He agreed to plead to a lesser charge because the prosecuter could not put together a murder charge.
Well, Domestic Violence has found a new home and was welcomed with open arms.
There seem to be no rules any more.
Perhaps we just shouldn’t charge anyone with murder. Just charge them with some assault sort of thing. Give them 30 days in jail.
If you kill a bad guy, you go away for a month and then come out and go on with your life. If you kill a good guy, you come out of jail and the dead guy’s brother is waiting for you. Now you’re dead and the dead guy’s brother goes in for 30 days.
I see potential for massive social cleanup.
No. The dividing line is the blue cities. If you are in one of them, expect horrors.
On the flip side, all across Tx you can arm yourself enough to protect your own life. So, you might have a chance.
If that’s my daughter, I’m camped outside the jail waiting for his release.
Offender a registered Democrat going in front of a Democrat judge?
THAT’s when they throw the key away.
