PARROT SLIDE

I had a wonderful little gray cockatiel for 22 years. Darlin and my hearts were broken when he died. Was one of best companions ever. He’s in the yard under a rose bush.

I’d had no idea how smart and compassionate birds could be. My beloved cocker spaniel died not too long after I acquired the parrot. During my grief, I was amazed at how that little bird comforted me. (That was before I acquired Darlin. He came along a few years later )

He sounds like a great bird! I read once that had the Chixulub asteroid not killed off the dinosaurs, their descendants; i.e., birds, would have ruled the earth. Not at all surprised!

You’re 100% right, birds do “know” when we’re down, in a bad mood, fearful, etc. They’re good weather-predictors, too. Mine always becomes very agitated and paces madly back and forth on his perch several hours before a storm develops. If he stays asleep on his perch when the weather people are predicting Armageddon, I know my town will dodge the tornado bullet. :-)

(I tried to duplicate your entire list, but at the end it was just three dots, so I’m sure some got left out. My pea brain hasn’t quite gotten the knack of how to copy a recipient list that’s longer than 1 line. Sorry about that!)
