Intubation (not=) Ventilator

Of course intubation and ventilation are separate things. Intubation can be simply to protect the airway (vomitus, aspiration, substances) but it does allow for more precise tidal volumes, pressure, precise O2 delivery, and regular respiratory rate through mechanical means.

It is very common in trauma facilities and intensive care units, and of course during surgery.
