My grandmothers fried chicken was the best. She would give the recepie to my mother, but always left an ingredient out.

Never figured out what the missing ingredient was.

I would submit that the best fried chicken that isn’t homemade can be found at Willie Mae’s Scotch House in New Orleans.

And get a side of butter beans while you’re there.

You can thank me later.

Can’t believe they didn’t list Belgrade gardens or white house in Barberton Ohio.

The grandkids and great grandkids swear by the fried chicken at the Belgrade Gardens in the Canton/Akron area of Ohio. I also think it is extremely good. Lots of paprika in the flour mix.

Before the air fryer, there was the old electric skillet with the giant plug.

“Probably lard.”

Remember all the Crisco commercials on fried chicken? As kids we asked grandma what shortening she used. She said whatever was on sale.

I’ve had Hattie B’s in Nashville before. Loved their hot chicken. I’ll have to try Prince’s next time I am there.
