Temperature has been dropping since about 3 PM here in NH.
It’s now 33° F.
It’s only supposed to go down to 10°F tonight, but that’s likely cause of cloud cover.
My 84 yr old father in in Blair Co. Says everything is a sheet of ice. Says he can’t remember it being this bad in a long time.
Wisconsin has warmed up today from minus 11, and Minnesota was on the minus 20s yesterday. But with the wind chill its minus 38 in Wisconsin.
19 in South Jersey. Nope no shopping for me tonight. Got all my wrapping done this afternoon 36 hours before Christmas. A new record for me.
it was -22F yesterday morning and I had trouble starting my truck so I could go plow my daughter’s driveway.
Lows in the low 50s the next three days...Oregon coast.
Poor child had to spend all of ten whole minutes driving the tractor.
It’s -2 with windchill -28 here in central Indiana, wind blowing at 26mph. That’s 10 better on all the numbers than it was a few hrs ago, The snow is so fine it’s blowing in the front door.
It is currently -4 in Pittsburgh, 16 in Philadephia, 19 in NYC, 40 in Boston, and 49 in Halifax, NS, where it is already 7 pm.
Not a big deal, was 1 this morning where the average winter day is 36...
Central and East VA dodged a bullet, for once.
“LIZZARD WARNING”
Don’t forget to “RAKE FOR PEDESTRIANS”
-1 in northwest Indiana pretty much all day. -9 last night. Wind chills -25 to -37. I bundled up and shoveled snow this morning and it wasn’t that bad. My major challenge has been taking the dog out for her business. By the time she settles on the right place, her feet are cold and I have to pick her up to warm them. Gusty winds and drifting have made travel pretty hazardous here, but I lucked out in not having anywhere to go.
72 today on Santa Monica pier. Days are getting longer.
Ah, the Winter Blessing
I’m in SW Pa and did happen to venture out today, against my better judgement. Donned two pairs of pants, two tops, two pairs of socks, coat, scarf and hat, and still froze.
Sub-zero temps can be a motivator.
You really miss out. Long, cold winters make the emergence of spring something transcendental. We really appreciate our summers in Buffalo, because they only last about a week and a half..
