It was a decade that spawned the Sex Pistols and the Vietnam War, platform shoes and Saturday Night Fever.
The Seventies also gave us The Godfather and Space Hoppers but those glam rock years will forever live in the shadow of the Swinging Sixties.

Sweet! 👍
These days, a lot of people think CD is an old thing we put music on.
Hehe...and I...remember Bailey. Oh. Yeah.
Impressive! Who knew?
“Ever hear the song, ‘Don’t stop believing?’”
The title rings a bell.
OK. Just listened on YouTube. I do recognize it. The singer — too breathy and whiny. Not something I’d remember in a good way. It does sound of Muzak-ish, though, so perfect to assault shoppers with.
Yikes! That must have been annoying (and creepy)!
My Dad was a top level scientist with a Q clearance, so the CIA “protected” us while there. My opinion of our CIA plummeted. They were so easy to spot, even for a kid. Kinda killed the mystique for me. I thought they were hilarious.
We didn’t have the street riots in Perfectly Orderly Switzerland, but we lived near the German border and got the German TV stations, so I saw some on the TV news. People were more worried about Palestinian terrorists in Switzerland.
German TV was a trip. The reruns of American shows dubbed in German were so funny to us, we laughed and laughed. Flipper (”Fleepah! Fleepah!”) and Hawaii Fünf-Null — and of course Hoss and Little Joe speaking German were funny, too.
German TV was um, interesting, in lots of ways. I still remember how one evening at dinner we left the TV on after the news and my baby brother (who was facing the TV) suddenly stopped eating and his eyes got bigger and bigger. We all turned to see what he was staring at. It was a nudist basketball game! Yes, the full Monty and they were wearing only socks and basketball shoes! My mother screamed and my Dad ran and switched it off, and after we got over our shock my brother and I got in trouble for laughing ourselves silly.
Little did we imagine then that worse would be on American TV in a couple of decades ...
and yet you survived.
I’m heading west across Michigan today. Apparently there’s a snowstorm coming. I don’t care
Detroit had a weatherman named Sonny Elliott. He was more of a comedian and had fun with the weather instead of STORM TEAM 4 and their eight forecasts every half hour.
He was also an American hero who spent 18 months as a POW after being shot down in WWII
Pet Rock
Motown
Funk
R&B
Music was absolutely colorblind. I still love 70’s R&B
So the henchmen grab the woman in mid-rant and she starts going off "Never marry a wop! They treat you like shit! (and to the henchmen) Are you here to kill me!?!"
I wondered "Was this acting or did they just fill her with 90 proof and turn her loose with the cameras rolling?" It was a great performance, a forerunner of Karens to come.
Very UK centric.
The media always says that so that the association stays with Nixon, who really had nothing to do with that mess. It’s intentional, not an accident.
John Gacy
Dean Corll
Juan Corona...
Probably the best decade ever in music. We clearly wouldn’t get along on a long drive.
I loved the 70s music.
I still listen to it.
So does my 24 year old son and all his friends.

You can find the only two of our songs ever released on the “Rockin’ the Wall” motion picture soundtrack album on iTunes:
“Didn’t Want to Have to Say Goodbye to You” and “Shake it if You Got It.”

70s and 80s. Most of their better stuff was in the 70s.
