On Jan. 3rd, Republicans will start the process of choosing the House Speaker. The Speaker will be second in line for the presidency and the most powerful elected Republican.
The vote will take several ballots and possibly many days. After internal debate, Republicans will come together and pick the right leader for the role and that should not be Kevin McCarthy.
The McCarthy camp is spinning that Kevin must be accepted because “we have to avoid chaos.” Chaos for who exactly? The special interests that are counting on a McCarthy as their lapdog? I’m worried about chaos in the lives of my constituents. They live under the chaos of vaccine mandates pushed by Kevin’s donors.
How well did Speaker Paul Ryan serve conservatives during then-President Donald Trump’s first term? Are we glad that his tenure got off to a smooth start? It would have been better to have debated and chosen the right leader. Ryan, of course, supports McCarthy.
Every single Republican in Congress knows that Kevin does not actually believe anything. He has no ideology ...

My guess is that McCarthy is the only one who can win, but I don't like this one bit.

It’s definitely gonna be McCarthy. I remember in 2018 they had these kind of games with the Democrats. It ends up Nancy after all.
Maybe Trump doesn’t want to be overshadowed by a strong articulate leader, so he favors the weak tongue-tied guy instead.

Matt Gaetz or Andy Biggs as the new Speaker would absolutely bring the Beltway to its knees, which is exactly what is needed.
Unfortunately, business-as-usual McCarthy will be leading the uni-party in the House of Representatives.
Gaetz, Boebert Call On Trump To Stop Supporting McCarthy For House Speaker
Reps. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) and Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) told TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk why they are fighting back against a McCarthy speakership and called on Donald Trump to “take a look at what is actually being said in the House of Representatives right now.”
Kirk asked why Gaetz is not supporting McCarthy after former President Trump threw his support behind the California rep.’s Speakership bid.
“I disagree. Look, I love President Trump, I’m going to vote for him in 2024, I’m going to campaign hard for him but HR was not always his best thing. It was not only the best people. I mean I remember having to deal with Jeff Sessions and Mattis and Tillerson and Bill Bar. It was sort of a parade of horribles with some of the people he chose inside of Washington, D.C. so maybe we ought to have a choice come out of the House that represents the Conservative center of our Caucus,” Gaetz responded, blaming Trump’s inner circle for the former president’s support of Kevin McCarthy.
“It’s a total puppet show. It’s a parade and the people here know it and see it and you know what, if Kevin McCarthy was on that stage today, he’d get booed off of it for good reason,” Gaetz added.
Trump is trying not to alienate the perceived mass of Republicans.
As long as Schumer is alive...Nancy will get whatever she wants.
