On Jan. 3rd, Republicans will start the process of choosing the House Speaker. The Speaker will be second in line for the presidency and the most powerful elected Republican.
The vote will take several ballots and possibly many days. After internal debate, Republicans will come together and pick the right leader for the role and that should not be Kevin McCarthy.
The McCarthy camp is spinning that Kevin must be accepted because “we have to avoid chaos.” Chaos for who exactly? The special interests that are counting on a McCarthy as their lapdog? I’m worried about chaos in the lives of my constituents. They live under the chaos of vaccine mandates pushed by Kevin’s donors.
How well did Speaker Paul Ryan serve conservatives during then-President Donald Trump’s first term? Are we glad that his tenure got off to a smooth start? It would have been better to have debated and chosen the right leader. Ryan, of course, supports McCarthy.
Every single Republican in Congress knows that Kevin does not actually believe anything. He has no ideology ...

If the GOP doesn’t get it together and stand united, we the people are going to get screwed by the Dems...as usual.
“Why is Trump supporting Kevin McCarthy?”
To build an election coalition.
Why are you a deep state agitator?
Is Gaetz running?
If not, who does he nominate?
No one else can win unfortunately.
McCarthy will win, so long as he maintains Trump’s endorsement.
What remains to be seen is where McCarthy will get the final votes he needs to clear 218.
Will he give conservative Republicans like Gaetz more power in committee, to secure their support and votes.
Or will he give more power to “moderate” Democrats, to secure their votes, instead.
We won’t know which way he’s leaning until right before the vote.
Because a broken Republican Conference can force the majority of Republicans to have to seek Democrats to help select a Speaker. Thus, I believe his logic is the choice would be worse than McCarthy’s.
Actually, Trump himself is qualified for the job of Speaker of The House of Representatives, that position does not require an elected official. If the Republicans want him, he’s in. It could be very entertaining.
Because he likes him. Hey his words not mine:
““I like him,” Trump said of McCarthy, before teeing off on those working against him including Matt Gaetz, Andy Biggs, Matt Rosendale, Bob Good, and Ralph Norman. Trump warned that there could be serious consequences if McCarthy does not get the gavel and it would make Washington worse for conservatives.
“I think it’s a very dangerous game that’s being played,” Trump said. “It’s a very dangerous game. Some bad things could happen. Look, we had Boehner and he was a strange person but we ended up with Paul Ryan who was ten times worse. Paul Ryan was an incompetent speaker. I think he goes down as the worst speaker in history. We took out Boehner—and a group of people, some of whom are the same, and they’re very good friends of mine. All those people are very good friends of mine.””
Well Matt is right but we go through this everytime. Only a RINO can get 218 votes.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is supporting Kevin McCarthy too.
Same reason he supported Fauci, Wray, Oz, Romney....he makes bad personnel decisions.
Looks like the GOP had its own circular firing squad
