A semi-truck driver hauling red dye failed to stop despite knowing the liquid was leaking onto the roadway and splashing cars for miles through the Portland area on Saturday night, authorities said.
Deputies in Multnomah County responded to reports of a tractor trailer leaking a red substance in Troutdale, a city about 16 miles outside Portland, the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said.
The driver, 40-year-old Junior Jean, told deputies the liquid was used to dye mulch, according to authorities. Deputies said Jean also claimed to have stopped to inspect the leak when another driver flagged him, but his company had told him to continue driving to his destination.

A number of years ago I read about how a brake shoe fell off of
the wheel of a tractor trailer on I-495 (the Capital Beltway),
bounced once on the roadway, and proceeded through the windshield
of a following car - decapitating the driver.
(Who died from it, by the way.)
So nobody tell me about YOUR BAD DAY, okay?....

Now I remember from “The Weekly Reader”, they also got rid of TAB.
TAB hung around until a couple of years ago. Th eearly version had cyclamates, I believe, which were banned, but TAB switched to saccharin.

Well it was bad enough when they banned cyclamates, they had to ban saccarine , and my mother was freaking in the 70's, next she said, they would ban her Salem's(menthol). She did say they would never ban coffee, although if alive today, she would hate Starbuck's, and would be searching fir "Taster's Choice"
She's been gone for almost 20 years, but God bless her.

Red mulch is my favorite. It turns black as it ages, then brown as it ages more.
