Senate to take procedural vote at 2:30 pm et to begin debate on omnibus spending bill. This procedural vote comes 13 hours after appropriators released the bill. The Senate's goal is to pass the bill by Thursday & send it to the House by Friday
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
I would like to see a senator require the bill be read on the floor before being voted on.
I had the idea that spending bills were supposed to originate in the House. Am I wrong? Can someone explain?
since its over 4 THOUSAND pages, 1300 hours should be enough time.
ripe for filibuster
This is complete BS. There are no real “fighters” to be found, apparently.
Speed readers, right?
So were just about evenly split in the Senate.... and we’re still losing. When we have majorities... we’re still losing.
There is the appearance we won sometimes.... but we’re still losing on policy. Isn’t that weird?
Then, we really do win for once, and the entire apparatus of government turns on a dime and attacks him relentlessly.
Isn’t that weird? Its almost like we have no influence whatsoever here.
I mean, I know we have the majority. If we didn’t there would be no need for the Gov to manipulate social media, right?
They work around that using a shell of a bill already passed, deleting its contents then inserting their 4000 page cr*p in there.
clever isn’t it.....
Bend over and grab the ankles.
Of course not! McConnell and the RINOS $$$paychecks are among those 1300 payoff pages. So I guess we get to fund our enemies again, the evil FBI,DOJ and the mediapukes along with the invaders with taxpayers money. I’ve been telling people here. America is done it’s over! We cannot sustain such massive debt in this country …we just can’t. We cannot support 30,000,000+ Americans and invaders ALONG with the millions of future invaders tracking towards our nation, who rely solely on welfare and survive. Our nation is going to break and fold. Say hello to a mirror image of the destruction of the Roman empire.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Has the number of pages in the bill broken Congress's previous Guinness World Record for number of pages in a US congressional unaccountable, unconstitutional spending bill? /semi-sarc
There are no real GOP fighters to be found.
The Senatrs are showing they are not legislators in any meaningful sense. They are pawm whose legislative life is run by their handlers - their staffs, and whose votes are called for by those real people in charge of legislation, which is the semi-permanent Senate and House legislative staffs (when legislators leave office the heads of their Washington D.C. staffs are often former staff chiefs for outgoing legislators). As far as the details of any bill they pass, MOST Senators and most House members know not what the bills really say - monster size or not.
Well "America" isn't done, as the government is obviously getting bigger and more powerful, which this proves isn't going to change anytime soon.
What's being lost, are our freedoms, and what the dream of America was originally based on, as both government, and industry, want to enslave us to give them more power. The vaxxes are the perfect example of both showing their growing strength.
Matt Gaetz, seems to be one of the very few willing to actually put his neck on the line there in DC. But he’s a lone voice in the woods, for the most part, and probably will soon be silenced himself once McCarthy gets in full control.
Rand Paul usually puts his neck out there too, and hopefully has a trick or two up his sleeve like he sometimes does to muck up the works on this one before it’s over.
Not many else willing to risk anything. A few others may jabber some, but never actually risk getting dumped from Committee or something like these 2. Assuming even their outbursts aren’t being coordinated in some manner, which I don’t take for granted.
Repubs should just leave town, deprive of a quorum, call for a roll call.
They’re all presently getting a pre-vote buzz going over at the Capitol Bar & Grill.
Sadly, I agree with you. If America ever recovers it will take a hundred years to undo what Lyndon started.
