I took my kids to see Avatar. I fell asleep.
Was it another wypipo bad movie?
Sequels rarely capture the magic of the original. The one exception I can think of is Godfather II.
Let me put it this way. I’ve seen it, and it made me want to go on twitter and get #KilltheSmurfs trending. Insufferable.
I believe Deadline reported that industry sources estimated that the production budget of Avalon: The Way of the Water was $460 million.
There will not be any Disney in this house. It’s hard enough to keep evil away from this family without inviting it in!
The Avatar sequel duration is reportedly 3:10 long. Are Avatar ticket prices much higher than other current movies?
Not going to be against Cameron. ‘Titanic’ and ‘Avatar’ were both said to be box office disappointments after early box office numbers came in. Both went on to be the highest grossing films of all time, respectively, at the time of their release. Avatar 2 has grossed way above the original Avatar on the opening weekend.
I took my kids to see the first Avatar. They were teenagers back then and they fell asleep.
I saw the first one. It reminded me of Jar Jar Binks. The long version.
Will the price of AMC drop as a result of the negative reports on attendance?
With a production budget of $460 million it will need to gross about a billion to break even. Theaters, distributors, and marketing all come off the top.
I am not interested in seeing it
Yup thats what I’ve been reading as well - around $450m. Add another $150m for advertising and they need to generate about $1.2B globally to break even. Probably will get there, but definitely not a good return for Disney. I thought the first one was massively overrated. Basically was just a futuristic dancing with wolves.
A good movie to see if you want to neck with your date in the theater. Movie almost three hours long but who cares about the movie when you have a decent chance to get to third base with your date because everybody around you has fallen asleep.
Terminator II.
They screwed up the last trilogy by not ending with a big reveal that the real power behind the Empire was Darth Jar Jar.
Original movie was an unoriginal boring long movie⦠but it was visually something never seen before. No one was clamoring for a sequel, other than Disney hoping to extend the IP into more cash grabbing
