Too gay for me.
1 & 2, perhaps the best sequel set of films ever produced by Hollywood. 3, not so much.
But definitely a sequel to be watched over and over, and just as good each time.
That scene is also a bookend with this one. I actually think this one is more powerful because it shows what is going on in Fredo’s head and how pathetic he really is. The big problem is, of course, that Michael is all out of sympathy for his brother.

IIRC he was married to Meryl Streep...
We have the entire trilogy on dvd. The first two are masterpieces, the third one not so much, but still very good. We have watched them so much, I’ve been avoiding seeing them for a number of years, but you got me interested in watching them again.
Connie’s wedding reception at the very beginning of Pt. 1 reminds me of weddings I attended as a small child.
Years ago when we went to Vegas, we actually met the late Al Ruscio, who was in Pt. 3. He and his wife were VERY nice.
The three Corleone brothers were effectively the three nations of North America: Michael was the US: intelligent, calculating and a bit full of himself, Sonny was Mexico, the rough and reckless, but funny one, Fredo, well, Fredo was Canada…

“Michael eventually has him killed, although certain events have to occur before Michael orders his death.”
Michael to Rocco: “I don’t want him touched as long as our mother is still alive.”
After she died, Fredo was a dead man walking.
“Later, in a sex club, Michael overhears Fredo explaining to a friend that Johnny Ola brought him to the club first and explained further that “Old Man Roth would never come here, but Johnny Ola knows these places like the back of his hand.”
As I understand it, this sex club in Cuba really existed, pre-Castro. There were many sex clubs in Cuba around that time, but this was a special one that was accessible to only the elites. Their main attraction was a guy nicknamed “Superman”. He was ugly in the face, but had the most enormous, longest, you know what.
