Netflix Eyes ‘White Mountains’ Movie Adaptation from Higher Ground Productions

As a continuation of their partnership, Netflix is developing another production from former US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama with their Higher Ground Productions. This new feature film is reportedly called White Mountains and will be based on the true story of Barney and Betty Hill, a couple in the 1960s who claimed to have been abducted by a UFO.

*snip*

Netflix’s White Mountains is said to be based on the true story of Barney and Betty Hill. The pair were an American couple who claimed they were abducted by aliens in a rural portion of the state of New Hampshire from September 19 to 20, 1961. It was the first widely publicized report of alien abduction in the United States. The Hills were driving back to Portsmouth from a vacation in Niagara Falls and Montreal. Just south of Lancaster, New Hampshire, Betty claimed to have observed a bright point of light in the sky. The couple followed the light for quite a bit and had binoculars as well.

After some time they stopped near a field and saw “eight to eleven humanoid figures”, who were peering out of the craft’s windows, seeming to look at him. In unison, all but one figure moved to what appeared to be a panel on the rear wall of the hallway that encircled the front portion of the craft. The one remaining figure continued to look at Barney and communicated a message telling him to “stay where you are and keep looking.”

One has to wonder why.

Is it the money (this is a popular subject)? The fact that it is an interracial couple (like Obama's parents)? Or because Obama knows something (he has made statements in public that he can't talk about what he knows about UFO's)?

Here's what Obama has said about the subject (video source):

but what what is true uh and I'm actually being serious here is is that there are uh there's footage and records of objects in the skies that we don't know exactly what they are we can't explain how they moved their trajectory uh they did not have um an easily explainable pattern and so you know I think that we're people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that [is].

I view it as a softening up. We are coming very close to worldwide calamity and, in their view, we are going to need the aid of advanced species to recover.

I think contact has been made for years and they are opening the door a little at a time. I believe it is all part of the last days deceptions.

There was a book written in 1966 about this supposed event, "The Interrupted Journey", by John G. Fuller.

This whole story was completely debunked by Carl Sagan in his 1995 treatise, "The Demon Haunted World."

I commuted from and to Lancaster by that spot for 25 years, looked up a lot, the most I saw was some beautiful northern lights, snowy owls, the Old Man of the Mountain before he fell down, and A10 Warthogs.

Stopped at the Irving station on old NH route 3 at the bottom of Franconia Notch several times.

They have a great display about the incident and alien stuff you can purchase.

Most Halloweens we do an alien theme.

I get asked a lot what I do with the Zeppelin NATO radio shelter chained down in the back of my U1300L Unimog. When I'm in the right mood, I respond, "I transport illegal aliens."

I did that one day with a border patrol guy, who was in uniform at the Burger King in Littleton.

He said, "I've gotta see inside that box".

I said, "sure, but you'd better stand back, these guys can e feisty, you never know what they will do".

He stands back about 30 feet in a stance with his hand on his sidearm in its' holster.

I opened the door.

He breaks out laughing when he sees the green guys.

Maybe this will keep the Obamas busy doing something useful rather than working at destroying the country.

Poor Carl Sagan let his love of the limelight blind him to his own confirmation bias.

It is very UNscientific to set out to prove (or debunk) an event or theory because your own bias is going to amplify confirming evidence and obscure evidence that doesn't.

This is what leads scientists today to bemoan the fact that research nowadays is mostly bogus because it is funded by the government for the purpose of proving or disproving a theory or hypothesis instead of merely looking for the truth (whatever it may be). In other words, scientists get grants to give the funder of their work what they paid for. Otherwise, they would be out of business shortly.

COVID has pulled the curtain back on the state of research in the scientific world today.

It can't be trusted because it isn't objective out of the gate.

We had an illegal alien in the White House for 8 long years, who went by the name of Barack Hussein Obama.

Reads more like money laundering to me.

Especially if the budget is inexplicably large.

You oddly conflate two totally disparate events, a supposed UFO abduction from the early 60s to the official 'reaction' to the Covid scamdemic 60 years later. That's quite a leap. Suffice it to say that science was much more actual 'science', even in the 90s, that what it is today, which is as you point out little more than a veil of legitimacy pulled over raw politics. Amazing what difference a few decades makes.

Sagan's primary focus in his book was to apply strict scientific theory to all the superstitions, hoaxes, unsolved mysteries and so many other unfounded beliefs that continue to plague mankind. And under that cold Occam's razor, the tale of Barney and Betty Hill, as interesting as it may be, fails strict scrutiny.

Yes, scientists are only human, and as such do have their own biases. It is a measure of the scientific mind as to how well this primitive urge is resisted. You go off on bias, yet exhibit an enormous amount of bias in your own post. Perhaps you did not notice. Biases are like that.

The answer to all your questions is money. Really this cycle comes around every couple of decades. All of a sudden there’s a rush of movies about “real” weird events. That’s how we got Amityville in the 70s. What’s weird is the wave never lines up with a found footage style wave. Like you’d figure these 2 waves would be perfect for each other, but somehow they never do.

It’s already been done...

The White Mountains, by John Christopher

Monstrous machines rule the Earth, but a few humans are fighting for freedom in this repackaged start to a classic alien trilogy ideal for fans of Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave.

Will Parker never dreamed he would be the one to rebel against the Tripods. With the approach of his thirteenth birthday, he expected to attend his Capping ceremony as planned and to become connected to the Tripods—huge three-legged machines—that now control all of Earth. But after an encounter with a strange homeless man called Beanpole, Will sets out for the White Mountains, where people are said to be free from the control of the Tripods.

But even with the help of Beanpole and his friends, the journey is long and hard. And with the Tripods hunting for anyone who tries to break free, Will must reach the White Mountains fast. But the longer he’s away from his home, the more the Tripods look for him…and no one can hide from the monstrous machines forever.

Race mixing pushing. It’s almost every single commercial, show, and movie.
Proving white women are too stupid to see the real world.

I can’t even buy Cheerios now because Ice T is doing commercials.
A former drug dealer, pimp, and rapper sells Cheerios.
He also plays a SVU cop on tv. He was a literal pimp, that’s a sex criminal.

Ice Cube doing Disney movies. He had a song called Cave Bitch about white women.

Hollywood, and everything it pimps, is immoral trash. To see a pro US movie, I have to watch a 60 year old Scientologist.
