During his 98-day reign of terror, Häyhä was unseen and unheard, yet was all the while targeting Russian soldiers with deadly accuracy, once even killing 25 men in one day. With snipers presenting such a high-value targets on the battlefield, Simo’s reputation as a marksman soon reached the Russian front lines; they referred to him as “The White Death”.

I assume they have jacketed bullets?
Yes, precisely made. He also shoots unmodified rifles ( with the exception of sights capable of longer range). A recent video was of 1000 yard shots with a .357 lever action offhand. Didn’t hit the plate but was close (within feet).

A case of “win the battle, lose the war”?
In any war, his skill is more valuable than a dozen “butter bars”.
Amazing stuff. I shoot mostly 30 caliber and up.
My brother was into small stuff. He shot 17 Remington and 22-250 a lot. I did his reloading. He died little over a month ago.
He was a very small man. 4th round with cancer got him.
Most of them couldn’t hit the side of a barn from the inside.
