OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A wanted man hiding from deputies since Tuesday in a swamp near Yeehaw Junction has been captured, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
It was announced on social media two days after Osceola deputies said they had “exhausted” search efforts for the man, identified as Cory Philippe, 32.
According to photos posted to the sheriff’s office’s Facebook earlier in the week, search efforts began Tuesday while there was still daylight. The sheriff’s office sought Philippe in connection to an aggravated battery case.
Deputies searched wooded areas and vacant homes about a half mile east of State Road 60 and Sunshine Avenue. When the sheriff’s office said its search efforts would be dialed back, it reaffirmed that law enforcement would maintain a presence in the area.
As detailed in a news release, it was determined Philippe was hiding in a trailer located in the search area. An Osceola County SWAT team surrounded the trailer and eventually saw Philippe exit after team members deployed gas into the structure, the sheriff’s office said.
Phillipe is accused of beating his father with a blunt object. He was booked Friday, faces a charge of aggravated battery on a person 65 years old or older and has been given no bond amount.

Very few after the truck ran into it.
Pythons? They taste like chicken.
Look at that photo. What you see would actually make an interesting entrance to a small town tavern.
The entrance would be that truck, step up into the rebuilt truck-like structure which has created a makeshift “corridor” leading to the Desert Inn.
It would be redesigned, of course, so that all parts would be fortified and steady.
Won’t happen, though. Probably not enough potential customers in that area to support the demolition and rebuilding.
Nasty stuff.
In 1947, riding with my Mom, Dad and two brothers we went throw the inter section of US 27 & RT 60! We were returning, to Miami from NW Alabama, in a 2 Dr 34 Ford. Raining and wipers (Vac. power) out, had to reroute to Vero, for repair.
I believe that is same building we saw then?
From the Wiki piece on Yeehaw Junction it sounds possible.
2010 population of Yeehaw Junction: 240.
Ahh, my dad tried that trick with me once, only with rabbit. It didn’t taste like good chicken. Very funky. But we all ate it. Had to! It was dinner that night whether we liked it or not.
Yes, yes, yes it is.
Sounds like a lovely chap.
Exactly. And if your unlucky enough to be on the coast those salt marsh mosquitos are just plain huge and vicious. Back yo Yeehaw Junction; the leeches in that area are bad problem.
Yeehaw Junction!
Junior Samples would have approved of the name
