Massachusetts residents who fought to end the war on Christmas in their hometown are celebrating the return of an annual tradition after a public library tried to upend the holiday season.
Marianne Martin and Jason Brogan, residents of Dedham, Mass., spoke out about their efforts to display an annual Christmas tree in the Endicott Branch Library Monday on "Jesse Watters Primetime."
"I’m sorry, this Christmas tree has brought out just a beautiful unity of different voices, people that I think come from different political ideologies, different ethnicities, different religions," Martin said. "But they all got behind this, and it’s a beautiful thing."
The tree was initially not displayed because of claims it made people feel "uncomfortable.
The controversial decision caused outrage in the community before officials reversed course and announced the Christmas tree would be displayed.
Dedham Public Library Director Amber Maroney wrote on the town's Facebook page there is no ban on Christmas at the library

It's a nicely decorated tree for god's sakes.

That’s a Happy Ending, and in plenty of time to put the tree up, decorate and take all the Xmas Selfies you want to take.
Good to know ‘Peaceful Protesting’ sometimes does work.

What I’d like to know is why the hell we still have “public” libraries. I know the ones in Phoenix are used as a place where the “homeless” can go to clean up, take a dump and wash their clothes. With almost all homes now having access to the internet, why do we need libraries? Turn them into public toilets for the homeless. It would make more sense.

The Local Fox affiliate channel is right up the street from this Endicott place. I was just over there in the neighborhood yesterday. My family was very prominent in that town during the 19th century. Many relatives are interned in a nearby cemetery which I visit occasionally. I think that my grandparents and great grand parents would be turning over in their graves at this new crowd of anti American anti Christian activists.
These ‘woke’ people are mental cases.

I still remember my 4th grade field trip to the local library, and the stern library lady, warning us that if we didn't bring back the book in time, that there would be a 2 cent fine per day.

Exactly, but don’t forget the annual property tax I pay for these worthless libraries.

Usually it’s a very small number of people who complain about these display - and then the town immediately capitulates.
Saw decorated Christmas trees for the first time in many years at my local mall, they’ve previously been putting up a few large Christmas balls and that was their “holiday display.”
Glad to see it - but this mall is going out of business.

The tree was initially not displayed because of claims it made people feel "uncomfortable."Maybe one or two people expressed their discomfort because they are miserable atheists or muslims. But thousands or tens of thousands were made to feel "uncomfortable" because the city took the tree down. The extremely small number of vocal azzholes need to be put in their place good and hard.

I think if all of that was going on in libraries, the crybabies wouldn’t get so “uncomfortable” (Being “comfortable” is not guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution) by Christmas trees and nativity scenes.

We personally borrow books and DVDs from the library. I am not saying it is worth what it costs, and the book selection in Phoenix is poor, but some folks use them for the old reason. Also, I have known local groups to borrow the meeting rooms for free (including conservative groups).

Narcan is an antidote to an opioid overdose. It must be administered quickly.
