Obstruction Charge Takes Center Stage at Jan. 6 Court Hearing

The charge at the center of the arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia was the obstruction of an official proceeding before Congress...The charge - formally known in the penal code as 18 U.S.C. 1512(c)(2) - was never a perfect fit for the many cases [about 360 cases] stemming from the Capitol attack...The measure was initially intended to prohibit things like shredding documents or tampering with witnesses in congressional inquiries.

KEYWORDS:
I would raise an even more important issue.

The obstructed procedure was the Congressional certification of the 2020 Presidential election.

In my opinion, the prosecution and Congress must prove - beyond a reasonable doubt - that the election was fair and honest BEFORE they can prove that anyone obstructed the cerification.

Trump lost the 2020 election by 43,000 votes spread across WI, MI, and PA.

The prosecution and Congress have no idea how many ineligible people voted in those three states.

And, the prosecution and Congress have no idea how many ballots in those three states lack a verifiable chain of custody.

Bottom Line...

Congress cannot certify a potentially fraudulent election!

But they did. What will the states and the people do about it?

And how will the people bring those grievances before their representatives if they cannot meet outside Congress.

The whole J6 charade is a major disgrace of political attack upon political opposition citizen supporters. Hillary herself embraces that attack, yet had strenuously objected to it, when she was the focus. Even though that focus on her was completely justified.

In reality it was nothing more than a slogan, because no real action was ever taken or even officially instigated.

Granted many people would have loved for it to become a reality, because she did the crime, and it was far more destructive than J6 ever was.

Re: But they did certify

Correct.

I am referring ONLY to the criminal case against the demonstrators, where rules actually matter sometimes.

The actual certification is a completely different legal issue and case.

My central point - the prosecution must prove the election was fair and honest BEFORE it can prove obstruction of a Congressional procedure.

The bottom line as I see it is that for liberals obstruction of justice is any activity that does not allow them to further the narrative that they want to promote.

The Certification was obstructed because of the pipe bombs BEFORE the riot.
