IN THE THIRD installment of the ongoing “Twitter Files,” Substack writer Matt Taibbi detailed the internal Twitter correspondence that led to the ban of then-President Donald Trump after the Jan. 6 Capitol attack.
Like the first and second “leak” of documents, which Elon Musk touted as exposés of “free speech suppression,” the third part of the Twitter saga boils down to a lengthy explainer piece about social media’s most historic content-moderation decision: Kicking a sitting president off of their service. “Is this the first sitting head of state to ever be suspended?” an unnamed Twitter employee asks early in the thread.
Titled “The Removal of Donald Trump,” Taibbi, a former Rolling Stone writer proceeded to dole out select portions of communications handed over to him by Musk’s team. The ensuing 67-post Twitter thread attempted to reveal the “the erosion of standards within the company in months before J6, the erosion of standards within the company in months before J6, decisions by high-ranking executives to violate their own policies, and more, against the backdrop of ongoing, documented interaction with federal agencies.”
While the “Twitter Files” and their rollout continue to be sloppy, selective, and out of context, the conservative right has reveled in this newly framed information, despite it being old news repackaged as novel and “secret.” Thus, Taibbi’s latest reveal has done more to fuel conservative distrust of liberal tech leaders, and less to actually uncover anything new.
Musk, meanwhile, continues to rile up the right over Twitter’s audacity to ban a former president who incited a riot at the Capitol to perhaps avoid explaining his own rationale for banning users. After suspending Kanye West for posting an image of a swastika, Musk reinstated the Twitter accounts of white supremacists and neo-Nazis despite their previous removal from the platform.

The fall back position when they can not refute the facts.
They lied about all of this (and under oath) yet it is old news.
RStone — bite me.
The independent journalist chosen to go over these messages left RStone ‘cause you ceased being either an independent source or anything relating to a journo outfit.
Proving the Swamp Coup is hardly news for Rolling Stone.
World dont need Rolling stone no more.
(We really need a BARF ALERT on items such as this).
Well I haven’t read the article. I see it’s written by Rolling Stone.
‘nuff said.
Rolling Stone has always taken the left side of everything. I know before I read an article from them it’s all leftist sentimentality. I don’t read articles by them because of their bias.
I remember when they first came out. I knew so many would be rock star musicians, they all smoked grass, (in those days that was the total sum of getting high except for beer really) and the idea they were smarter than everyone else except those on the left was so palpable you could cut it with a knife.
The left in the sixties and seventies were so smug. THAT is where Rolling Stone hails from. I don’t know what their writers look like, oh, ahem, their ‘journalists’ but I can well imagine they are aging hippies or followers of aging hippie ideas.
I have never thought smoking grass was a brilliant idea. Your brain works well enough off drugs, drugs make it a mess after a while and the while starts when you get high. I don’t think making it all legal is a good idea, encouraging kids who need to have a good mind while going to college or learning a trade being all messed up instead, laying around listening to music and looking for a fast lay. RS considers itself brilliant for it’s stance on politics but why should we all take the word of drunk and drugged up rock musicians for our political ideas.
Of course Rolling Stone would hate Donald Trump so of course they will hate anything that exposes the left and their take down of Trump.
Just read the last two paragraphs. It’s the “narrative”.
Actually, they are proving that Jack Dorsey lied when he told Congress Twitter doesn't discriminate against conservatives, or shadow ban.
The RS reporter is just a Soviet-style stooge, as expected.
No different than “Grain Harvest Smashes Record!” during a famine.
Rolling Stone- LOL;
* the left wing rag who brought us the Virginia frat house gang rape- which never took place.
* the left wing rag who reported hospitals in Oklahoma were over run by people over-dosing on ivermectin, and showed people in the Sooner state waiting in line for ivermectin in the middle of summer- wearing mittens, wool hats and winter jackets.
* the self anointed “authorities on rock and roll,” who panned Zeppelin IV
He even looks greasy.
Shame on you Rolling Stone! You are a bunch of people with no ethics, morals, responsibility or conscience. Still spewing lies and spinning. Moving on from the "Baseless, Debunked" line to "Nothing to see here, folks".
