Elon Musk and his AI program, ChatGPT

While browsing around I cam across this AI search engine by Elon Musk. Is there anything he is not into? There is a trail version at the website and is free for right now. It will ask for your name, email, and phone number. It is web based so no download. Supposedly this will put Google out of business within two years. I tried "FreeRepublic"and it came up with this:

FreeRepublic is a forum website that is popular among conservatives and libertarian-leaning individuals. It was founded in 1996 by Jim Robinson, and it is known for its discussions of news and political events from a conservative perspective. Members of the forum can post articles, comment on existing posts, and engage in discussions with other members. The forum also has a number of features, such as the ability to create your own blog and participate in polls.

Sorry, didn’t mean to confuse you.

Google launched the Penguin algorithm back in 2012 and it crushed duplicate content on web pages. Penguin destroyed millions of websites.

People writing AI programs and thinking that it’s some kind of magical content-writing elixer will be deeply disappointed. Google AI interceptors are far, far above what independent AI programmers are developing.

Google has publicly stated that it will crush AI articles. I have no reason to not believe Google.

It’s an opportunity for writers to continue creatively writing.

Ok now I see your point. Yeah I believe that. But its worth a test to see if the content that this ai program produces pass plagiarism checkers.

There are a bunch of them out there.

Or are you arguing that google’s plagiarism checkers are way more sophisticated than what you can use online. So no point in checking the plagiarism checkers.

I’m not an expert in this stuff.

AI developers use what? Web3?

Google has quantum computers.

Just off the top of my head, I don’t think Web3 is getting past the quantum firewall.

Like I said, I don’t know what I’m talking about. If someone wants to join in and tell me I’m full of crap, jump in.

Vetting the veracity of ChatGPT answers takes some work because it just gives you some raw text with no links or citations. But it can be useful and in some cases thought provoking. You may not see something directly like ChatGPT in Google search results, but Google has built large language models of its own and uses AI extensively already in search.

That must be where our Left government members get their speeches from.

Not likely, since the AI is probably USING google to help it answer everyone’s questions

Google doesn't make money by providing search results. It makes money from ads and paid ranking. These would be hidden to users of any AI front end.
