Has our society transitioned to a period of “post-truth”? And, if so, what does it mean, where is it taking us, is it permanent, and can we fight it?
The online Cambridge dictionary defines “post-truth” to mean “relating to a situation in which people are more likely to accept an argument based on their emotions and beliefs, rather than one based on facts.” Given this definition, I personally believe much of the United States has transitioned to a “post-truth” society, and many of us will become casualties of this new paradigm before harsh reality steers our nation back to an “objective truth”-based decision-making.

We are our emotions so, if they do not inform us of the truth, what use are they? I believe our emotions, when informed by objective truth, are an “early warning system” for avoiding future trauma. This early warning system is what we call intuition or gut feeling.

In contrast, a Post-Truth society deliberately stifles the development of intuition by avoiding emotional trauma altogether. Instead of emotions being informed by objective truth, those emotions become “our truth.” What better way is there to control people than through emotional manipulation after crippling their defensive intuition? However, this societal manipulation strategy can only work as long as “my truth” is not confronted with “the truth” and “my truthers” are insulated from emotional trauma.
What caused our society to reach this tipping point? I believe that objective truth is dying from a thousand little cuts and these cuts are a purposeful strategy to destroy our society and groom a population so it can be manipulated through feelings. I will mention a few below (I am sure the reader can come up with dozens more):

We are living in a society that is collapsing.
Post truth and post backbone.
The definitions of Good and Evil have been abolished and in some ways completely inverted/perverted.
The definition of property has been abolished, same for male/female, sex...even reality itself.
The group in question honestly believes a person can literally redefine reality as he wishes.
If an individual adhered to this ideology, we might commit him to an asylum. But when a large group adopts this ideology and one of the two major political parties caters to that group, we have to take a different approach.
As a first step, we ought to stop being shocked and surprised by their ideology and behavior.
This is one of the armies of our enemy. It is what it is. The sooner we come to grips with this fact, the sooner we can figure out how to respond.
One thing is for sure. We cannot turn to our system of laws to defend against a group that refuses to recognize them.
I never cared for philosophy (I once had to help a philosophy/psychology major friend by typing on an electric typewriter an extremely dense term paper, 25 single-spaced pages on "Existential Humanistic Psychology" which he dictated to me, and kept looking at him and asking "What is this crap?" I think that experience scarred me!) and I know to many conservatives, Ayn Rand is persona non grata due to her atheism, which I understand since I am repelled by atheism myself. Personally, I presume I subscribe to a mix of Intrinsicism and Objectivism where they can co-exist, but wholly and unequivocally reject Subjectivism.
DISCLAIMER: I am no philosopher, and I know there are plenty of knowledgable and talented people on this site who might read my shallow and/or imperfect descriptions below and be horrified or offended by them-I apologize in advance!

We are living in a time of increasing belief in "Subjectivism", which I think ties into the subject of this thread "Post Truth". This is why we see this current taking us to a place where it is perfectly acceptable for a man to believe he can fully be a woman, have menstrual periods and babies, women can believe with full affirmation that they can be men with male sexual organs and fully "father" children, anyone can believe they are a dog, cat, tree, or unicorn, and be fully accepted and treated as such, or believe they are black or Japanese if they are lily-white of ango-saxon descent, even though these things are all delusions and fully impossible.
That is "Subjectivism". It is an evil poison. It is "Post Reason".

They are coming for our children ….just because we are SEEING the damage in/from our kids schools the past two years……doesn’t’t mean it JUST happened….!
It’s obvious now they’ve been sowing corruption, immorality, confusion in our children’s schools for a long long time….
Many parents were not aware……too busy with their lives, their jobs, etc
Plus warnings from Phyllis Schlafly, James Dobson, etc were treated with disdain and dismissed from by the media
Schlafly was a political ‘canary in the coal mine’ for me with her early warning signal about our schools many years ago
That is why I became involved in my children’s schools……..it gave me an awareness and access.I wouldn’t have had

Yes we have been there for awhile now. For instance voters now look to subjectives in their leaders and reject them for being “mean” whether they are competent or telling the truth or not. You can “feel” that the GOP is a racist party without any proof. You can feel like a woman despite factually equipped as a man, and no one can tell you otherwise.
CS Lewis writes about this in his day. He may have been one of the first to recognize a post modern future, albeit he never used those words.
