Ankara has set a final deadline for Russia and the United States to force Kurdish forces to leave three strategic towns in northern Syria, a Turkish source has claimed. Turkey has warned that the alternative will be a military operation against the Washington-backed forces.
The official told Al Jazeera that Turkey has demanded that Moscow and Washington press the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to withdraw within two weeks from Manbij, Tal Rifaat and Kobane (Ayn al-Arab).
Turkey will not extend that deadline, according to the official, and has warned that the alternative will be a military operation against the US-backed SDF, which is largely made up of the Kurdish-dominated People’s Protection Units (YPG).
Turkish official stated that the US had proposed the idea of restructuring the SDF and giving a larger role to the Arab forces within it in administering the three towns that Turkey had demanded the SDF withdraw from.
However, Turkey announced that SDF control of oil facilities had to end before it considered any American proposals.
The Russian side also placed its own demands related to Ukraine and linked those demands to it backing down on Syria.
The SDF has attempted to head off Turkey’s planned operation by leaning on both the Russians and the Americans.

Who are our Ukraine lovers going to side with in this?
How are forces in Syria any of Turkey’s business?
Is this like us invading Iraq because 15/19 terrorists were Saudi?...
If Turkey attacked Syria from the rear, would Greece help?
Deep State setting up for the next money laundering scam...?
Oh no…not Syria
Anyways
I’m not a fan of banning films, but I probably could be convinced to make exceptions for The Human Centipede (and the sequel) and for Man Bites Dog.
I’m just saying . . .
Horrible movie. After watching I was mad at myself for watching...
“Who are our Ukraine lovers going to side with in this?”
If anyone has to be “sided with” I would choose the Kurds. They might give the Turks a much needed black eye. That would also mean the Russians and Americans would be on the same side. That’s a good thing. This would also strengthen the hand of Assad - who, albeit a dictator, has been good for Christians in Syria.
I’m good with not taking any side and the US and Turkey shouldn’t be in NATO.
The Human Centipede or Man Bites Dog?
I watched The Human Centipede to see why there was so much hubbub about it. Afterward I was annoyed with myself for watching. Man Bites Dog? The VHS jacket specifically said it was a “black comedy” or “dark comedy”. In a way, it’s a brilliant film because it’s deliberately designed to make the viewer angry. It succeeded. If anyone ever created a pot to contribute to for putting a contract out on the film makers, I would risk prison to contribute to it.
The centipede. I haven’t heard of the other, and won’t be watching.
“How are forces in Syria any of Turkey’s business?”
Considering the long border between Syria and Turkey and the fact that the Neocons are trying to overthrow the Turkish government, I’d say that Turkey has a MAJOR interest in Syria, or at least Northern Syria.
So just like Russia and Ukraine?

“So just like Russia and Ukraine?”
Yep, Russia certainly has an interest in what happens in Ukraine.
Turkish President Erdogan figures Obama tried to off him in a coup in 2016 and who was Obama’s VP...
Erdogan wants to leverage Russia and the US under the pressure of Ukraine to give him everything he can get including northern Syria.
“Turkish President Erdogan figures Obama tried to off him in a coup in 2016 and who was Obama’s VP.”
Good point, Victoria Neuland (effectively). Queen of the Neocons.
Starts making sense now.
