smart looking at the fly over...u r right...it doesn't look like it.
took a chipping lesson Tuesday. short shots are killing me (yips)... worth at least >3 shots a side. Put the lob wedge in my bag this year and stuck with it. It absolutely killed me. It will be adiosed for next season. I have better results opening up the sand wedge.
I set up the side yard for chipping\limited pitching and full swing trainer.
Tempted to put in a flood light. To paraphrase Chip Beck..."gotta luv it !"
I am vowing not to go into next season with stone cold rigor mortise...and have to use 3 months to play out of it.
I'm already Jonesin

I hear you on the jonesing, and the skill decay with long layoffs. I’m headed to the Dominican Republic in January and then Cayman in February. Golf in the Islands is horribly expensive but I CAN’T GET INTO THE STATES!!!
I’ve only ever had 2 wedges - sand and pitching. I got as low as a 6 handicap with just those and decided I could make do with only 2. I need my 3 and 4 irons (now hybrids) and that pesky rule about only 14 clubs gets in the way of a third wedge. We have some indoor computer golf around here where you hit into a screen to keep the swing in muscle memory. You just have to make sure you don’t develop any weird swing hitches and spend all winter reinforcing them. Haha! I know people that’s happened to. They spent the whole next summer undoing something they reinforced week after week the previous winter. Golf is hard and it’ll break your heart if you take it too seriously.
took a chipping lesson Tuesday.
darby's chipping tips:
1. ALWAYS keep you hands in front of the ball... ALWAYS.. Over do it at first..
2. Unless you have a ton of practice time, always chip with the same club.
3. Loose, loose grip for soft, delicate shots... Firm grip for low runners or spinners.
4. Most importantly... relax.. be brave.
