A Home Depot worker has died from his injuries six weeks after being shoved to the concrete floor by a serial shoplifter he tried to stop stealing three pressure washers worth $800.
Gary Rasor, 83, died on December 1 after he confronted the suspect at the store's garden center on October 18.
The grandfather put his arm out to stop the man from rolling away a cartful of shoplifted pressure washers. He was seen on surveillance footage being shoved to the floor by the thief, who was clad in a Calvin Klein hoodie and face mask.
Rasor, who had worked at the Hillsborough, North Carolina, store for nine years, was in and out of the hospital in the weeks after the incident before being transferred to hospice care, where he celebrated his 83rd birthday.
His wife Yovone said that she and her husband had plans to retire, travel and meet their new grandchild for the first time before his death.

Rasor was left unable to walk and suffered a mild heart attack after the incident.
Hillsborough Police confirmed his death was linked to the injuries he suffered during the incident.

'He knows the guy is a thief. He's been there,he's seen him in the store before.
'And what he told me was that sometimes the guy will buy one or two items so he has a receipt, and then he'll add more stuff to his cart and flash the receipt.' ***

From another source:
Police have asked for the public's help in identifying the suspect in the larceny-linked death. The approximately 6-foot-tall Black man fled the scene in a white, four-door Hyundai Sonata with an "obscured" North Carolina temporary tag, police said.
Wearing a stolen Calvin Klein jersey.
SOMEone knows this murderer and is Godly bound to turn him in.
Don’t deaths caused during the commission of a crime in NC qualify as “felony murder” i.e. first degree murder? However, I’m sure the police will make a diligent effort to identify the guy - probably put at least a couple of hours in on it.
Two different customers react to theft.
He probably had a cell phone.
The police can use time information to get a list of cell phone numbers and owners’ names from the phone companies or google.
The police can use drivers license information to eliminate people by gender, race and possibly age & height.
Ebay searching might also be useful.
Can I loot Bass Pro, Cabela’s, and Red Wing Boots now?...
That scene was one of the most saddening things I’ve seen On Patrol.
Some reparations are paid in cash, others in merchandise.

This is a prime example of felony murder. The death penalty is appropriate.
Note the gloves.
Don't hold your breath.
Home Depot can show it is serious about protecting employees by offering reward information.
Is it a glove, or is he just ashy?
This is the kind of stuff that makes me doubt God. The man is 83 years old probably working cause he’s bored and wants to stay busy. He gets killed by a thug for pressure washers. Makes zero sense.
We'd like to know the true crime numbers for the Untied States - any reason YOU goons won't release them?
Of course, Home Depot is more angry at this guy than the shoplifter.
Yes. Of course, the usual suspects will say (as was done in the case of the ballot stuffers in 2020) “Hey-it was cold out. People wear gloves when it is cold.”
Yeah. People wear latex gloves when it is cold.
Why has it been deemed that shoplifters will not be punished? You might as well just say “help yourself” to a great many unscrupulous people.
He escaped Covid, but one of Obamas soldiers of social justice got him. It’s a multi-pronged attack. Just think of the rehabilitation or nursing home brigade of woke soldiers in the pipelines.
