Now, the question is: Did she use the meds herself, or did she sell them on the street?...................

‘Crandall had been employed since July.’
Didn’t take her long to crash & burn.

Common problem.
My neighbor's daughter was sent to school with her rescue inhaler and Epi Pens in case of allergic reaction.
All of these were locked up in the school office and supposedly could only be accessed by the school nurse. At least that was the excuse they gave when she had a asthma attack and they would not let her have her inhaler but that is another story.
They provided the school with two unopened twin packs of Epi Pens. That would be four for those of you playing along at home. At the end of the year they got one in an opened pack back. Daughter had thankfully not needed the Epi Pen all year so they asked. And "shut up" the school replied.

Oh wow. ADHD medicine is one thing...going hyper is not going to kill you (behavior is likely what tipped the school off to the idiot described in the article). But you can die from asthma.
Hate to say it but some of the stupidest people I ever dealt with were either teachers or school administrators. It’s as if schools are a magnet for those types of people.
To: Red Badger
Nobody did. It probably would have done no good. This was the same DA who decided that if someone who was a blood relation stole from you it was not really thief and you should just ask for your stuff (a little over $50,000 in rare coins) back. Oh and it was perfectly common for people to bring pounds of 19th century silver dollars into pawn shops and ask for the face value in folding money. Nothing suspicious there I assure you.
Not even the parents who had some really expensive drugs (not that Epi Pens are cheap) disappear.
No one wants CPS to show up at your door.
And the schools will do that.
My cynicism about government bureaucracies is hard won.

And these coins were not junk.
VF and above all of them.
The only justice we got was that the pawn broker went out of business very fast when it got around what he had done.
No way he thought those coins were legitimate.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Aspirin can kill a person who is allergic.

My old coin collection book of 50 cent pieces is sitting in my garage, untouched for almost 50 years. (Yes, I feel kind of guilty.)
After visiting the coin shop and its display case, I am inspired to dig it out.
Even at only 22 x face, each coin is $11. And many of mine were BU or U at the time. Ten is $110, and I have more. But converting to paper is a loser, so ...?
And gas was about 30 cents when I collected them. And it has been over $6 lately. So that’s about 20 times.
Maybe that coin book kept pace with inflation.
Next concern is that 1099-K form and $600.

Just redeem 50 coins a year. $550 is under the limit.
