Germany Bans Farmers from Fertilising Own Land to Serve EU ‘Green Agenda’

Farmers in Germany have been banned from properly fertilizing large areas of their land under strict EU rules pushing the green agenda.

The use of nitrate fertilizers has been further restricted for large swathes of farmland in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is now likely to drastically reduce yields.

Although German authorities have implemented the ban, it is ultimately at the behest of the European Union, which is seeking to reduce the amount of nitrogen to tackle ‘climate change.’

The policy has already wreaked havoc in the Netherlands.

As reported in September, Dutch farmers have risen in protest to oppose the government curbs on nitrogen emissions to comply with Brussels.

Only Denmark, Ireland, the Flanders region of Belgium, and the Netherlands are permitted to exceed 170 kilos of manure per hectare, the current EU cap.

But under the terms negotiated by the outgoing Agriculture Minister, the exemption will end in 2026 and impact approximately 18,000 farms in the Netherlands, which spreads more manure on fields than other EU nations.

Farms affected by the decision will only be able to apply for 10,000 euros in assistance, which even Staghouwer acknowledged will not be sufficient to cover their losses, adding it “is not a nice message” to the farmers.

Green agenda

Now the push has extended into Germany, forcing farmers to use 20 percent less fertilizer.

German news outlet Bild reported that a third of the total usable farmland in North Rhine-Westphalia falls under this new restriction…

And why not? Everywhere that’s been attempted, it has worked like a charm! Right?

The lunatics in Salem and the Portland area have gone tyrant here. Equal to the British banning gunpowder in Massachusetts.

Yes sir! And here comes a related assault on agriculture, particularly meat production: https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/4113958/posts

All in the name of that pagan fantasy religion, “Climate Change”.

IIRC, since the 1960’s, German agriculture has been run by the EC out of Brussels and not Germany. Of course, Germany has most of the power over the EC, so there’s that.

Or maybe the German Green Party and the Green ideology will suffer enough losses in the next election in Germany to derail the entire project. If so, such a development would do much to weaken that movement throughout Europe.

So, what’s the best way to deal with people who are trying to kill you? Courts? Protests? Writing your congressman?

Let them ban fertilizers globally, out of equity.

Let’s see how that works.

At the same time outlaw diesel for farm tractors and distribution tractors.

Let’s see how that works.

Blind and stupid euroweenies want to solve all problems with solar panels and wind farms.

Just rings of. Russian 5 year plans. Plans by the experts.

I was wondering about that myself.

The way I remember it is that the EU tries to keep crop prices at levels that would reward farmers with a good living yet not cause riots by consumers. So at least they are aware that consumer riots are always a possibility and not something positive for their control of agriculture.

I think that the Left is always probing (probably unconsciously) to see how much it can get away with before the peasants riot. It's probably passed time for action on the part of the peasants.

Not sure if I agree this is reminicient of the Soviet 5 Year Plans.

More in line with The Holomodor.

At least that will be the end result, and it won’t be the Ukraine region or the Kulaks being starved.
