As Tesla has announced their new semi truck
“To do this in one hour(and IDoubt you will see this) would require a generator of 1000000 watts, or one megawatt(approximately)”
Tesla has stated 30 minutes for a 70% charge using their 1000 kw charger.
I’m going to buy some land, and some horses. They can’t turn off horses.
“The bad news is the trailer they haul behind is completely full of the batteries. No room left for cargo.”
Why post this fake nonsense?
Musk needs to dump this idiotic idea and focus on more important things like Twitter and SpaceX.
<>DC is a different world.<>
Thomas Edison v. Nikola Tesla. DC lost.
It was joke, but not far from the truth. Along with a 100 others things that are wrong with EV’s. Hauling around 1000’s of pounds of batteries requires lots of energy. Those batteries are also chemical polluters from start to finish. More and more people are seeing what a bunch of BS EV’s are. Unworkable on a large scale. Unsustainable. Find a sensible way to power them and they would be great. The current method is insanity.

Totally fake and far from the truth.

Conventional brakes waste a lot of energy. Any time you slow or brake an EV recovers energy!
“Why post this fake nonsense?”
To match the nonsense in the article....
“To match the nonsense in the article....”
Because you lack facts and the ability to make a logical post.
Electric vehicles are fine for small cars running around in an urban area (if you live in a single-family home and can install a charger to recharge it every night) or for playing golf.
I’ve already wasted enough time today trying to correct one of your fellow Elon Musk Lovers on an article that had a blatant mischaracterization of the capability of this vehicle.
I’m not watching the video nor reading any accompanying article. After 35 years in the electronics and aerospace industry, I can think for myself on technical issues.
IMHO, the current state of EV batteries is indicative of an industry that’s ahead of it’s time. Check back in 10 years or so.
Three questions re EV trucks:
1. What is the average range? Anything less than 500 miles isn’t worth it.
2. What is a charging time? Any time more than 1/2 hour is not worth it.
3. How does an EV truck compare with a standard diesel truck? Truck cost? Truck lifetime? Operating costs? Insurance cost? Etc.
I never slow down!

The typical work trucks I see servicing my area sit idle most of the day. If EV, charging time at night not an issue.
Elon Musk and several other billionaires were given challenges by the US government to build things that the government wanted. The government in turn would make sure that their stocks could not go down. Every time they did, they went back up as long as Musk hit goals. So Google created a Phone OS that everyone uses for free (except Apple). That OS tracks you and everything you do. Musk created a vehicle that sends stuff to the space station. Musk is sending up satilites that cover the entire earth. So pictures of every foot of the world can be taken. And high speed internet can be reached from everywhere. So our spys in China or any where else can bypass local communications and go directly to Musks communication. Musk has no client but he is doing that anyway.
Google mapped every street in America. Nobody asked them to. They just did it. Amazon created a secure server farm for every business in America for very low cost. All these things are things that the US government wants. Billionaires were created by manipulating stock prices. Amazon became the biggest company in the world with no profits.
These companies would have faced anti-trust lawsuits before. But now they grow boundless regardless of profits. These are not companies. They are NGOs. And they do the US governments bidding. And as long as they do, they are protected. Musk is one of them. I am not sure what he is doing now. Maybe he is going rogue. I don’t know. Maybe the government thinks the democrats are winning too much. Maybe people think that folks are getting too rich or bad guys are taking control. I am not sure. But Musk seems to be biting the hand that made him the richest person on the planet. I hope he has good bodyguards.
Supposedly this truck has a 500 mile range…..but I am guessing that’s with an empty truck.
How much for a heavy load? Far less. In the cold? 3/4 to half of that.
I own an EV and this makes no sense to me.
#38 Subtract 70% of the range like the electric F-150 so maybe 150 mile range then hours and hours to recharge.
Wait, there’s more. The Fedgov is going to spend $5 billion on charging stations. How many are gong to be placed in “underserved communities”? How would you like lurk around a charging station in deepest, darkest Newark while vehicle charges?
