My grandmother used to refer to them as “murder cycles”.

The guy driving the stolen Lexus was keeping a suicide appointment with that embankment and the truck just happened to come into his path... he never did have any intent of making the corner. Not only is the mbike rider incredibly lucky, but a microsecond also earlier and the truck driver would have been gone too.

It stung me 3 times. Once on the lower and twice on the upper eyelid. No permanent damage. Luckily I had on a pair tight fighting sunglasses that it was having to reach around. If my eyes hadn’t been covered, yeah, it would have been really bad.

Agreed. Would have been interesting to hear more of the drivers background but I'll assume he had a rap sheet prior to this accident.

At some point our judicial system needs an overhaul. Too many career criminals getting passes....if your going to live a thugs life then live it in prison.

Motorcycle vs. deer. Not good. I never rode at night. I was more concerned about something like a ladder in the road. I almost hit one during the day. Thanks.

Me too. Sold my Harley Wide Glide about 2 years ago. Enough with dodging all the idiots on the freeways. I was a long time rider since 16, but the morons with the phones is a new danger. Oh well, had great times.

About 14 years ago a fellow retiree from my plant was riding his Honda Gold Wing to California with another son to meet up with another son in Cali. While on the freeway in Arizona, his front tire blew out and he was killed.

5 years ago another retiree friend and his wife were on his Harley when an oncoming truck made a left turn at the intersection in front of him and my friend smashed into the truck, sending his wife flying over the truck into oncoming traffic where she was killed..

He's had multiple surgeries and lost his sight in one eye but he's still alive.

When I started riding I was a 35. I quit after a couple years because of the oncoming lunatics that would swerve at me and laugh. Terrifying. Maybe it was because I was a female riding alone.

Yeah, but it was fun until dodging cages got tiresome. My problem is that I live in an Orange County suburb and have to ride miles and miles to get out into the open space. It wears on you, especially after riding for hundreds of miles back from a biker or other event. Those open highways are cool, but the last miles are major traffic, especially coming back on a Sunday.

Oh well. Get your motor running. Good times, bad times...only went down once when my back wheel slid on a license plate while turning a corner. No pain, but screwed up my carb/manifold.

My past bikes: Honda 300 Scrambler (stripped down) for hill climbing; Late 60' Triumph Bonnevile; Indian Scout 1948?; 1971 Harley Superglide; 1971 Harley Sporster; 80's Honda 900; 1995 Harley Wide Glide; 2000 Harley Road King. I did a lot of trick stuff to all those bikes. My favorite was the Wide Glide. Painted it with an American flag motif. Everyone wanted pics thinking it was the Easy Rider bike.

Honda 300 Scrambler.......sweet. Are you sure it wasn’t a 305? Guy up the street had a Honda 305 scrambler back in the late 60s early 70s. Sounds awesome. Thanks.
