President Trump confirmed to Axios reporter Jonathan Swan on Friday that he had dinner this week with old friend Kanye West and anti-Semite groyper leader Nick Fuentes, telling Swan that he did not know of Fuentes and that West had brought him to Mar-a-Lago uninvited.
West, who also calls himself Ye, has been in hot water over several anti-Semitic remarks he recently made. Fuentes is a notorious anti-Semite and Holocaust denier.
Swan reported on Twitter, “NEW: Statement from fmr President Trump in response to our story about his dinner w Ye and Fuentes: “Kanye West very much wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago. Our dinner meeting was intended to be Kanye and me only, but he arrived with a guest whom I had never met and knew nothing about.””

UPDATE: Trump post on Truth Social, “This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Shortly thereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about. We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful. They then left for the airport.”
The third guest, according to Timcast, was former Trump campaign staffer Karen Giorno.
The story of Fuentes visiting Mar-a-Lago with West Tuesday night was first reported by Politico on Wednesday,”According to a source, far-right extremist Nick Fuentes was spotted with Kanye West at Mar-a-Lago. West tweeted last night he met with Trump at the club. West and Fuentes were also seen together at Miami airport.”

A source initially denied to the Daily Beast that Trump dined with Fuentes, “A source familiar with the matter told The Daily Beast that while West had dinner with Trump, Fuentes was not present.”
Late on Tuesday night, West tweeted: “First time at Mar-a-Lago Rain and traffic. Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting.” “And I had on jeans. Yikes,” he added. https://t.co/HR3VteZvlj

West posted video commentary about his visit with Trump, claiming Trump was “really impressed with Nick Fuentes.”

The video features Ye advisor Milo Yiannopoulos who was filmed in 2016 singing America the Beautiful while white supremacist audience members gave the Nazi salute.
West earlier claimed in his visit he asked Trump to be his vice presidential running mate for the 2024 campaign (Trump announced his own bid for the presidency last week), “First time at Mar-a-Lago Rain and traffic Can’t believe I kept President Trump waiting And I had on jeans Yikes What you guys think his response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?”

On Thursday West posted a screen image of group chat about his and Fuentes’ meeting with Trump.

Ye bringing jeans to the meeting with Trump turned out to be the least objectionable he brought.
UPDATE: Timcast reports West used the dinner as a “power move” against Trump for his own 2024 presidential campaign (excerpt):
According to a source familiar with the events at the dinner, who asked to remain anonymous, Ye had arrived at Mar-a-Lago with (Karen) Giorno, who served as Trump’s Florida chief strategist in 2016 and later a senior advisor for his campaign, as a power move to show that he is serious about his White House bid.
Giorno has worked for multiple presidents and is regarded as highly formidable at running campaigns.
…“Nick attended the dinner and sat across from the president. I sat to the president’s right and Ye to his left,” Giorno said. “The president was by himself for dinner but invited Ye to meet some people on the patio.”
It’s judgment like this that hamstrung Trump in his first term. He is his own worst enemy in many of the choices he makes and people he surrounds himself with.
All I see is a gracious host. The man could have met Jesus in the driveway for all we know. I don’t see a pattern of hanging out together. Maybe someone is trying to make Trump look like Jesus, and kind of sad that instead we see something else. San Fran Nan told us how to freeze it and polarize it. Clearly, they’ve done that.
Well put.
:)
Nick “6 million cookies” Fuentes. Hard pass.
At the whistle stops, Kirk would take questions from the audience. The Groypers were those who asked questions from the right rather than the left, basically questioning if Kirk and his organization were truly conservative.
At first Kirk and his rainbow coalition tried to field the questions, but they weren't able. Eventually they had to try and prepopulate the question line with their shills, or shut down questioning all together.
I don't believe Fuentes was ever one of the questioners, but he did advertise where/when the next TP event would happen and encouraged his listeners to stand in line and question Kirk.
Most of the groypers wore suits, were polite, and many had rosaries. These were not Nazi goons.
Trump may be a genius but he is lacking in good old common sense.
Kanye West is toxic.
“groyper”...that’s a new one on me!
So, Michelle Malkin is one of them, too?
Is that why she has been cancelled?
He steps on his own **** all the time.
I never heard about any of that stuff. I have a lot of respect for Charlie Kirk and Turning Point for bringing the conservative message to younger folks. Last year, I attended a Trump rally in Phoenix that was sponsored by Turning Point, and was impressed at how well it was run and how the Turning Point staff treated the guests.
Cancelled? Maybe Im not understanding what youre referring to. I do know she retired from writing her articles. Theres an article floating here somewhere where she said her goodbyes to her readers.
She also did some brave things such as being at a pro-police demonstration in Denver where she was threatened and bullied by counterdemonstrators while police stood by and did nothing.
I think she's a bit bitter because of the lack of support her efforts have received from those she publicly supports.
She's alright though. She founded a couple of popular social media sites which she sold. She is also married to a man, who I believe, is well off.
She recently announced her retirement from politics, but said she might speak up on occasion rather than trying to keep going with her regular columns and videos.
His form of conservatism is more like that of CPAC, i.e. big tent that is ultimately dominated by neocons. They are very sensitive to "optics" and anyone that associates with someone they dislike, even if that person didn't do or say anything wrong themselves is banished.
Candace Owens was at one time banished by TP, and this was way before the Ye stuff. Fuentes, and anyone who even took a picture with Fuentes, was also banned. I believe Michelle was also on their lifetime ban list.
They spend very little time talking about immigration, and just have the typical Romney-esque talking points of lower taxes, less regulation, etc.
For those who want the cancer that is CPAC to spread throughout the college world, I guess it's a great thing.
The College Republicans and YAF don't seem to have done much lately, so I guess another worthless quasi-conservative college organization can't hurt.
Since when is “Fuentes” a White Supremacist name?
Young people who carry rosaries = cult member dorks
It hasn't happened often - but I've had people bring uninvited people to my home before. It's uncomfortable but you do what you can...
She has never been a groyper, she just defended his (Fuentes) right to free speech. She doesn’t even agree with him, all she did is say he is right as an American, to say what he has to say and Conservative Inc., cancelled her.
Thanks.
I really miss Michelle ,but I don’t blame her for taking a break from politics.
It has become an increasingly dangerous game.
They are goons who join the left in silencing conservatives
