Americans will soon be gathering for their Thanksgiving feast. But there are certain “Turkey Day” dishes that many people aren’t thankful to see on the table or their plate. A travel website, The Vacationer, surveyed 1,092 adults to find the most disliked Thanksgiving foods. Cranberry sauce tops the list with nearly 30% of those surveyed opting to pass on it. The second most disliked food is Turkey! Yes, turkey!!! (Whaaat??) Followed by sweet potatoes, green bean casserole and stuffing (or dressing for those of you in the South). So, if you’re doing the cooking this year, take note, plan accordingly and have a Happy Thanksgiving.
1 Cranberry Sauce (29.92% dislike) 2 Turkey (28.09% dislike) 3 Sweet Potatoes or Yams (24.25% dislike) 4 Green Bean Casserole (24.61% dislike) 5 Stuffing or Dressing (23.42% dislike) 6 Coleslaw (21.68% dislike) 7 Ham (21.23% dislike) 8 Pumpkin Pie (20.77% dislike) 9 Mashed Potatoes (17.57% dislike) 10 Macaroni and Cheese (14.73% dislike) 11 Corn (13.82% dislike) 12 Carrots (12.08% dislike)
NO SAUSAGE
NO OYSTERS
NO MUSHROOMS
I believe this is one of the articles of the Geneva Convention.
Hunters are few and far between around here, but we have had more wild turkeys around of late.
Maybe we should have traded mothers.
If all I had was candied sweet potatoes with pecans thrown in, Thanksgiving would be perfect
That’s what I’ve always done.
Two? What a GREAT Mom! Happy Thanksgiving!
A WHOLE can of cranberry sauce for yourself?
No wonder it was a great meal.
I try to make sure there is enough variety on the table that everybody has at least two dishes they can enjoy. Meat, two veg, starch and salad is the dinner norm.
Thanksgiving the table is loaded because we have a crowd. Currently 23 are for sure going to be there and we may have over 30 depending on who decides to bring current SO or just lonely friend.
About the only type of person who might not be able to find something tasty is a strict vegan.
Vegetarian we can do. Vegan not so much.
That sounds like a reasonable rule.
Vegans can fend for themselves. We will not bend over backwards for vegans. Vegetarians will manage but we’re not expecting either of those for Thanksgiving.
Looks like those people should just go to McDonald’s…
The only food I don’t like is the stuff I can’t eat cause I have overeaten already. I appreciate all of it.
Amen. I mean it. They could have taken a survey of the best liked foods.
Never take good food for granted.
Dollar tree had half sized cans of name brand jellied cranberry sauce. How come no one is selling turkey legs or breasts by themselves. Gotta buy the whole Bird.
Brussel sprouts( like almost anything..except cake)...goes well with BACON.
Shocking, just shocking.
Used to add one egg, poultry seasoning, evaporated milk, black pepper, along with the bread, celery and onions, and cook in the bird so the meat drippings soak that delicious concoction. Yum. That and dark or light turkey and skin, and cranberry sauce. Cook cranberries in sugar. All I need.
Some markets sell turkey parts.
Yup, exactly the one I was thinking of.
Well, that or Nastassia Kinski with Cheesecake, of course.
Glad I could contribute! LOL
Fried okra is something I will eat if seasoned well. Boiled okra is horrible! Like eating mucus!
