I believe you are misinterpreting the chart.
I think it is trying to explain not ALL DNA, just Y and mt.
1. yDNA is the DNA on the Y chromosome. Only males have yDNA. So boys get it from their fathers. Girls don’t get it at all.
2. mtDNA is mitochondrial DNA. It is in the mitochondria (as you correctly pointed out). All children get mtDNA from their mothers. Fathers do not pass along their mtDNA.
yDNA is chromosomal. It is from the Y chromosome which is found in the nucleus of the cell.
mtDNA is NOT from a chromosome. Not found in the nucleus. It’s separate from the DNA that most people think of when they think of DNA. “Normal” DNA, including yDNA, is located in the 23 pairs of chromosomes. mtDNA is outside of those chromosomes.
That explanation will blow the minds of the TransJennered. They are chromosome deniers.
