Quitting a great paying job on the eve of what may end up being a pretty severe recession is not a good idea

“Something very comforting and satisfying watching some of the cancel culture police get fired.”
They clearly don’t understand the compact between the employer and the employee. The employee does what the employer says, or the employee gets replaced. It seems their entire generation views the world as a place where they do what they want, and someone pays them for it. Amazing. How did that happen?

Please, the employees at McDonalds can't telecommute, sometimes are working in hot conditions, deal with the public/can't hide behind a corporate wall, get immediate feedback if their product isn't good, and wear a uniform.
Comparing Twit ex-employees to McDonalds employees is like comparing baseball - where they call a game due to some rain - and football where they play in snow and subzero temperatures.

Actually McDonald’s attempted this. They tried to have the drive up widow be answered remotely where the staff would take the order and then enter it into the locations computer.
An idea ahead of it’s time (and technology, poor sound quality and delay between the order and order reaching the store put an end to the experiment).

It’s too bad Musk didn’t install robotic doors that could be programmed to hit them on the ass on the way out.

As the economy is taking a downturn, jobs like these are the first to be axed. Happened twice now in the last 25 years. No one needs someone who just approves content.

There will be a lot of regret. It’s ok though, they are in California, I am sure their mortgages are not that large.

I'd like to know how they are going to put this on their resumes. What companies will want to hire a bunch of spoiled mutineers who are ready to overthrow the leadership at the drop of a hat?

About a year ago my employer sent out an email about a reorganization at the top with a new CEO and a couple others.
I read the email, shrugged and went back to work.
I don’t interact with the CEO that much but have found him to be a great guy.
Actually, the first time we met was at a company lunch. My job is mid-level but fairly high profile so I’m pretty well known. As he was walking by, he stuck out his hand and said “Oh, you’re cyclotic.”
I said something like, “well, that can be taken several ways.”

This just reminds me that I am happy I grew up before everyone had a video camera. I have done some stupid things in my life and fortunately they did not leave a scar or a video record.

They can probably pick up a gig at Google. They have the same mental condition as pre-Musk Twitter.
