I just took a look at the car. A few spots will need some Bondo work. The rest of the damage will buff right out.
What...no photos of ICE cars on fire?
Metal Husk => Musk
The battery pack burns at very high temperature. Extremely difficult to extinguish. Typically 30,000 gallons of water.
If I started a band, it would be called Metal Husk.
they have to get the price of gas high enough so the EV seems competitive
unfortunately their war on conventional fuels are driving electricity prices as well
but thats ok cuz in the end they will just mandate
and it will be shut up and get on the bus
which is the real goal
Goal of course is to either prevent the fire or get the people out of the car as fast as possible.
Last resort:
Very good point. I am sure in a couple of hundred years, when oil supplies are gone, EV’s might be the right option. Right now, I see no financial advantage in owning an EV. Even the electricity used to charge EV batteries comes overwhelming majority from fossil fuels and nuclear and hydro. But may be 500 years from now, fossil fuels will be exhausted and we will be using soalr and wind. Right now it is the most expensive form of energy.
What the American liberals completely ignore is China & India are right at this moment building brand new coal fired power plants at the rate of MORE THAN ONE EVERY WEEK.
So China & India use the cheapest form of energy (after hydro) but American businesses will be forced to use the mos t expensive Green energy.
My Acura MDX went 250K and is probably still going. I donated it and they were happy to get it.
<>why the rush?<>
Our government masters are neck deep in making big money off the new industry they force on an unwilling public.
Just needs duct tape.
Time to retire the jaws of life.
Liberals are crazy people. Period!
“I have a lite hybrid car”
Reserved a CRV rental but when we got there it wasn’t there and they upgraded us to a hybrid. 34 mpg for the 10mdays.
“large piece of debris” went underneath the car, causing it to begin to smoke.”
When an EV is in an accident, if the battery gets hit (side impacts are the big problem) it’s totaled.
—
Yup. Debris likely punctured the battery, shorting out some of the cells, creating a hot spot ,which started a fire, which then consumed the battery.
“Technically, lithium-ion batteries catch fire due to anomaly in their constituent elements – electrolyte consisting organic solvents, oxygen-rich cathode, flammable gases.”
It’s one of you ideas at work Joey.
If I had a band, we could open for you. It would ne called Lucretia Borgasm.
We all would rock and kick ass.
Think of the carbon!
