A Tesla burst into flames on a Pennsylvania highway late Tuesday morning, burning so hot as to only be recognizable by its rims, firefighters said.
Multiple fire departments were dispatched to a vehicle fire at Mile Marker 137 on Interstate 80 Westbound in Cooper Township just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.
The daughter of the couple driving the car told WTAJ they were driving their Tesla Model S when a "large piece of debris" went underneath the car, causing it to begin to smoke. The couple, identified as "Michelle and Bob," pulled over and got out of their car. Neither were injured.

Do you think it can be repaired? 🤪🤗😀🤭😩🥹
That’s the difference between gasoline, which burns at 1,500 degrees, and EV batteries, which burn at 5,900 degrees.
HA! Needs a wheelbarrow and a broom...
If this continues, EVs can become known as a source of heat for those cold winter nights.
In better shape than Twitter at the moment.
Until price of EV’s can compete with ICE cars, I will not even think about buying one. Every one of my last 5 ICE cars lasted 100,000 miles with no repairs. Why even think about an EV?
It’s pretty obvious that as long as Democrats are in control, they are going to penalize petroleum burning vehicles and subsidize battery ones. So for the average person, economics will be the forcing factor.
I think Twitter will generate bigger ROI than Tesla or Spacex. With all the high priced employees fired, Twitter will be cheap to run.
And the returns will come from what, specifically?
It’s a race between cutting employees (cost) and losing advertisers (revenue).
Will be fun to watch
I do not leave the battery for my Stihl hedge trimmer charging in my garage overnight.
It is about the same size of a motorcycle battery.
Oh yes, democrats and liberals are obsessed with MAN MADE global warming HOAX. I am still waiting for an answer as to how the last ice age ended, which had many miles high ice glaciers parked over midwest. There was so much ice there, when it melted, it formed the largest body of fresh water on earth known as the Great Lakes. That global warming was certainly not man made. Note: Lake Baikal does not have more volume of water than Great Lakes, it is simply deeper.

Why do you think 78% of EV owners also have an ICE car, but only 1% of ICE owners have an EV?
In 1895, EVs were around for a few years, until steam-powered vehicles slowed sales down, and then the ICE vehicles killed the battery-powered EVs altogether. Ford, Duryea and others killed the EVs off, until recent years.

Probably cheap and thin aluminum underside to the vehicle. Won’t take much to puncture and expose batteries to damage.
Of course the lighter the frame the better the mileage.
Not unless he carries a broom and dustpan on the truck.
They do, at least around here........................
but but but the climate emergency
oh and virtue signaling
we have to save the erf
even if it kills us
“Only a decade until we are under water”.
Hmm! Rising water levels due to climate crap and cars that burn like hell when they get wet. What a combo for this world we will live in.
Same as for Google, Facebook, etc....ADVERTISERS.
If there are millions of eyes watching, there will be advertisers. If you build, they will come.
