An irate motorist was caught on camera attacking an NYPD traffic agent after he was ticketed in Brooklyn on Monday, police said.
The male agent was issuing a parking summons to the suspect’s vehicle in front of 1602 Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay just before 1 p.m. when the confrontation occurred, cops said.
Surveillance footage provided by the NYPD shows the man, who wasn’t in his car at the time, holding his arms out in disbelief before approaching the agent on the sidewalk and getting inches from his face.
The agent can be seen shaking his head at the motorist as the two appear to be yelling at each other. Moments later, the man flicks the agent’s cap off his head before pushing him in the chest, the clip shows.
The agent then pushes him back.

“Traffic Agent?” Is that the same as a meter maid? Clearly not a cop.
And it’s only going to get worse.
Angry motorist needs a belt
I have to say that I grew up in NYC and lived there for much of my life (although with extensive periods elsewhere), and I remember attacks on parking and traffic agents being pretty much of a constant over the decades. So this is nothing new.
People get insane about these things.
So, if he wasn’t in the vehicle, then is he still a motorist or merely the ‘alleged’ motorist?
Cops with more than 15 years, looking at retirement, are bailing out and leaving. Giving it all up.
A man went to the shop the other day. He was only in there for about five minutes and when he came out, there was a traffic officer writing a parking ticket for over-running the meter.
So the man went up to him and said: “Come on, how about giving a man a break?”
The officer ignored him and continued writing the ticket. So the man called him a pencil-pushing idiot. The officer glared at the man and started writing another ticket for also having parked partially on the pavement!
So the man called him a pig. He finished the second ticket and put it on the car with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket!
This went on for about 20 minutes and the more the man abused him, the more tickets he wrote. But the man didn’t care, his car was parked around the corner.
I found a ticket under my wiper in New Orleans years ago and actually looked closely the next morning. It was for a Cadillac that had been parked several blocks from where my Roadrunner was parked. I obviously didn’t pay it.
If you believe this last election apparently most Americans want this kind of crap.
He may have already had one or two quick ones before the confrontation...
Well as long as there aren't any more mean tweets from politicians...
Who could blame them?
