Today we react to a Dr Phil clip discussing cancelled words and phrases.
Many realtors have agreed not to use the term “master bedroom” because of connotations. But a smaller separate quarters may still be called a mother in laws quarters.
I hear grandmothers saying MFer in front of kids at the local lake.
I tell my wife it’s a bit “nipply” out.
Guess Biden will bring me back on Active duty and demote me!
So, are they going to say Blake Masters has to change his last name?
MasterCard has to come up with a new name?
“I Dream of Jeannie” re-reruns have to be cancelled because she calls the Larry Hagman character “master?”
This PC crap has to go.
So is Cracker Barrel Restaurant safe?
While we’re getting offended about stuff, (I don’t mean us specifically), how about that woman on the Klondike Bar commercial who talks about “shaving your ‘eyebrowl’ off?”
{cringe-cringe-cringe-cringe-cringe-cringe}
Now that’s offensive. 😄
The Clampetts are still waving the Stars and Bars in the Grunion War.
Your post reminds of how irked I get at this time of year when I order a cord of wood (3 ricks) and get about 2-1/3 ricks. A rick (and a cord) is a set measure, as you said, like a quarter pounder. For those unfamiliar, a rick is 1/3 of a cord of wood, 4 feet high x 8 feet long x 16 wide. It doesn’t seem to matter who we order from, they short us every time. They think 3-1/2 feet high is close enough, and they also leave large air gaps. My husband has told me that we shouldn’t complain or else we risk getting bad wood. So I’ve stopped saying anything, but it still grinds my gears.
Oh, I get it, these are morons, and we need to make sure they feel OK because they are not smart enough to understand language.
If it pisses people off...I’ll say it !!!
When cowboys work in brushy country, it helps to have a good pair of Chinks - they help in the wind and Nippy air too
A partially blocked kick is when a defender gets a piece of it—a phrase that some folks will undoubtedly find offensive.
2 x 4’s
You bring up a good point. How do we know what gender any particular connector identifies as. Maybe it’s a female with “male” attributes.
We have virtually the same thing here. I never have wood delivered. I want to see it and measure it first. I’ve been burned before on delivered wood, so never again. Generally I cut my own but sometimes I get lazy or busy. What we have here is “face ricks”. 4 ft. high and 8 ft. long (if they’re honest). This doesn’t take into account the length of the wood. 14 inches, 16 inches or 18 inches . . it makes a difference. A cord is never sold here in the South as it is a precise measurement. So, we do ricks . . which can vary. Buyer beware.
I thought that any pass to the side is considered a lateral—and a live ball if incomplete. An underhanded toss is a shovel pass, and it can either be a forward or a lateral pass.
What you don’t want are transgender connectors. They don’t play well with others. And they’re whiny.
betcha dey don do dat wit ebonics, tru dat sum b
