In my rural city of 25K there are three UMC churches and one has had a fag flag and rainbow sign up for years. They seem a lot more interested in attracting the small number of queers than young families or other groups.
Why don’t they just empower swingers and orgies too while they’re at it?

It is these kinds of theological and policy emphases and incongruities that have helped reduce membership to almost half of what it was in the 1960s. That’s just as well, I guess, considering the corrupted message that has taken over. I walked away over thirty years ago, but I can imagine how heartbroken my pastors during my youth would be if they were still around to see this.
