Majority Changes in the House of Representatives, 1856 to Present. ONLY 6 times has both House/Senate changed on off years.

Since the start of the modern party system in the decade before the Civil War, the House has changed majorities in a midterm election a little more than one-third of the time. But of the total 18 House majority changes in that time span, including presidential and midterm election years, more than three-quarters have occurred during a midterm.1

The table below lists the majority changes. Bolded text indicates a presidential election year. Italic text indicates that the Senate also changed majorities.

Taking the House Majority in a non Presidential "off" year occurred 14 times - so it's not that common.

This is a big win for the GOP.

Taking BOTH the House and Senate occurred ONLY 6 times in off year elections.

So if the GOP can pull that off, it's a HUGE win, some might just call it a tidal wave.

If they pull it off yes,

however there is no escaping that even if they wind up with a small majority in both chambers, this election as a whole was disappointing.

I'd say historical.

It is clear to me that election fraud is endemic in Pennsylvania.

And not just that one state, either.

...and it would have been EVEN better if it weren't for those meddling Millennials...

But they will learn. After all, that $31 trillion in debt is going to land hard on someone some day.

well, 99% of the news is fake news, corrupt, false narratives. So nobody can blame you for thinking the GOP lost and the Dems won.

We're in better shape than some of these years in the chart, like the 1930 depression , or WWI, or WWII etc.

I think the press is manipulating you.

If you want to be disappointed, note that the states that locked Trump out in 2020 still appear wholly corrupted.

Trump needs a workable Congress and to be electable in 2024.

Mitch and China are celebrating.

With the country at very near 50/50 it is not reasonable to expect much more than slim margins in the House and senate and the status quo more or less continuing.

The result is that change is not legislatively possible outside fiscal matters. The result is presidential executive orders that are modified or rescinded by the courts.

Fortunately, President Trump provided lots of judges and a conservative supreme court.

The legislative branch is not presently in the agenda business

Fraud did not cost OZ PA...

Oz cost Oz PA folks... utterly off brand and lousy candidate.. never had a shot at winning.

The only reason OZ was within 3 was because Fetterman had a stroke... had Fetterman been healthy, and been able to properly campaign Oz would have lost by 6-8.

This is the simple reality of PA.

Registration:

46% D, 39% R, 15% I.

To win statewide in PA as an R you have to be an insanely strong candidate.. YOu have to get every R vote there is to get, and then win independents by more than 2 to 1 and/or peel off a lot of conservative/moderate Ds... Oz never had ANY shot at accomplishing this. He didn’t even have strong enthusiasm among Republican voters... He was a turd.

He was a lousy and completely off brand candidate, no one should be surprised he lost, anyone who’s spent any time in PA outside of Philly/NJ border should have been able to tell you he was losing.

You cannot run a lousy or mediocre R for statewide office in PA and win, period.

Oz wasn’t even mediocre, he was utterly off brand, and the folks who told you he was a “great” candidate were ignoramuses or liars, or both.

There were a LOT of unforced errors in this election, If the GOP winds ups winning both houses it will almost certainly be in spite of themsleves...

If all they can squeak out is 1 Senate sate and a slim majority in the house in the current environment then they need to fully rethink everything.. because if that’s the best they can do in this environment, long term they have little future.

“I think the press is manipulating you.

If you want to be disappointed, note that the states that locked Trump out in 2020 still appear wholly corrupted.”

Exactly! CONTEXT: there was a soft coup in 2020. Since then, the MSM along with Dems and creeps who never liked Trump's success have created A BIG LIE called “ELECTION DENIERS”!

Along with that, the entire population of the US has acquiesced to mailing in ballots which have a QR code or name on the outer envelope! We've institutionalized a voting method that would be scoffed at in a Third World dictatorship.

The wider perspective is that the Civil State and its employees hold the power. The Dems or Statists, have never stopped working to create a total control society. However, neither the Dems nor Reps are responsible for the fall of the Republic. This country was founded upon IDEAS that were firmly understood for over a century by the common man. But the University Philosophers who teach the process called thought imported from Europe IDEAS of anti-Reason, anti-Free Will that form the base of statism. And slowly generation after generation were convinced that the ideas of the Enlightenment are wrong.

Here we are, aghast at the absurdity of this vote scam. After Biden, an almost brain dead statist, was installed, there was little public energy expended on returning to paper ballots which are cast at the poll on one day and counted on one night. No, they MSM and Dems and no more Trumpers keep the still awake majority off balance and unfocused on the one thing that can help end the institutionalized vote fraud. Rant off.

At this point the likely GOP margin in the House is so small I think we might be better off letting the Dems have it so that it will be easier to run against them in 2024.

In some of those off years, the minority party made big gains in the Senate that made it easier for them to take over the Senate in the next election.

Also, things were different in the 1980s and 1990s because there were a lot of Democrats who voted with the Republicans, so effective power in Congress could shift without one party replacing the other as majority.

Nobody “told me” Oz was a “great candidate”. Why would you make a comment like that? Because I view the entire Pennsylvania political system as being entirely corrupt?

Look at the Republican douchebags who have gone to the Senate from Pennsylvania in living memory. I hardly think they were “insanely strong” candidates.
