I heard this yesterday from a pro Trump candidate for US Congress who was being interviewed. He said that people are tired of getting ‘punched ‘all the time and they wanted someone who punches back.

Will DeSantis do that?

The hate is yuge so any candidate that got an endorsement may have taken a hit.

Trump has nothing to do with it. He’s only one guy.

Republican voters and candidates have only themselves to blame for any losses.

As for abortion, most Americans favor limitations and restrictions, but not an outright ban with no exceptions.

Donald Trump is my favorite President, even more so than Ronald Reagan.

However, I think I’m moving on from him.

I like him in the role of a clarion-calling standard bearer, and his presidency was the best I have ever seen.

I don’t like him in terms of his failure to be a team player. I’m not even sure I like him as a kingmaker. Calling out numbers to make him look good, in a severely-disappointing election shows me he doesn’t care about the boots on the ground, but only how he looks.

Reagan faced the same Establishment hate and Media mocking, but he had a great way of playful rebuttal, with a twinkle in his eye and a little smile. America loved that. All the attacks mustered against him, failed, because he was able to gently turn it around on his attacker with a witty quip or a well thought out fact.

Reagan was also the author of the phrase, the 11th commandment, which was “Thou shall not attack a fellow Republican.”

Trump, on the other hand, has a serious ego problem. He cannot resist getting into a public verbal fight with anyone who criticizes him. While this was fresh and new in 2016, and propelled him into the presidency, it doesn’t work in 2022.

Also, the way Trump fights back is not nearly as good as Reagan’s style. Trump hasn’t got the charm of Reagan, and it’s beginning to hurt our side.

It is for these reasons that I must move on from Donald Trump. Sir, thank you for your incredibly wonderful service in 2016 through 2020. You made those years prosperous and sane. But it is time to move on.

I’m likely to get a ton of flak for this post. That’s okay, I can take it.

It’s just blathering. Do the Republicans who don’t like Trump think DeSantis will be less polarizing? When the Dems are already calling him WORSE than Trump? We have weak leadership, a radical & biased media & absolutely insane Democrats who know how to cheat & ARE CHEATING. That explains everything that needs explaining.

My interpretation of Tuesday is that President Trump may no longer be the kingmaker he has been, but it’s idiotic to blame one person for the outcome of hundreds of individual elections.

That’s on the voters (or the voting machines, ballot dumps, etc).

Trump wasn’t on the ballot.

And the soap opera turns. How about asking him or DeSantis what he did today to challenge the regime in DC? Does anyone know what either’s position on the Uke quagmire is? How much money did they raise? Any quality candidates for ‘24 recruited. Oh heck no, who cares about issues that win elections. Two years from today we’ll be scratching our heads wondering, how’d they do it again? Quick, here comes the mechanical rabbit!

I say we get rid of McConnel, McCarthy and all the Rino’s before we toss out Trump.

Just saying.

If it wasn’t for Trump, the RINOs would have taken back control of the Republican Party and would have been glad to play second fiddle to the Democrats. Trump encourages the new wave of conservatives to continue fighting for what is right for America. Where would we be without “The Donald?”

Yes, sometimes Trump drives me nuts, but give him credit for continuing the Tea Party movement.

I wouldn’t say it’s his fault, but he could have done more to support the people he endorsed. He had over 100 million, and only spent about 15 million of it.

He is also really hurting himself with the crap he is saying. Especially, attacking Desantis.

This election is one thing the establishment GOP sitting on its hands they want Trump out

If there had been a red tsunami would Fox and WSJ write articles defining Trump as the man and the reason for victory?

It’s silly to even fathom the thought, isn’t it?

I think the other billionaires got their moneys worth out of the media and establishment attacking Trump. Time will tell if it was a kill shot. If not, God help those billionaires if Trump returns. He holds a grudge.

I have not been moved by the obvious blatant push poll like attacking. If enough people are dumb enough to raise their rumps for the smoke to be blown up em, well... time will tell.

I don’t blame him, but overall, it didn’t help.

He is not quite the force big fans think he is.

In some cases, it hurt. In others, it helped.

Helped with primaries, but many generals were hurt.

Trump may have been a minor factor
especially since he did it just before the elections, which might have reminded some people that he existed and why they didn’t like him. And that he was threatening to run again. This possibly depressed Republican turnout in some places, since the press naturally made sure it was spread all over the place immediately.

But it wasn’t just that, and it wasn’t the abortion non-issue either, since the Dodds decision did nothing to limit abortion but merely left it up to the states (some of which now have even more liberal laws).

And as for our candidates
we may have had some not so great ones, but look at what the Dems were offering
and Dems voted for them anyway.

I noticed that all of the worst of the COvidian politicians - those imposing lockdowns, demanding masking and vaccine passports, etc. - won or were re-elected. I think what we are seeing is that the Dems like being locked down and controlled, and like having the state in their life at every moment and like making sure the rest of us do, too, because they love the state and it makes them feel safe.

And they love the feeling of power they get from making us submit.

I saw a few of them chirping away on Twitter that now their governor (Hochul, I think) could make sure that the children wore masks in school all day and that parents couldn’t refuse the vaccine
because it made them feel “safe” now.

We assume everybody wants freedom, but guess what - they don’t. It scares many people and what they voted for was mommy state to come and kiss their boo-boos and make them feel better.
