Elite capture has been mastered by the Chinese communists, and it has proven far more successful in subverting America than the prior efforts by the Soviet Communists.
When people wonder why America is in such rapid decline with the woke normalization of censorship, cancel culture, division, unequal justice, and depravity, they need to understand the theory of “elite capture,” and how it has played such a large role.
Elite capture has been mastered by the Chinese communists (CCP), and it has proven far more successful in subverting America than the prior efforts by the Soviet Communists. While the CCP uses front groups and bots for propaganda, they have mastered all the techniques of infiltration to influence, compromise and coopt elites so as to “capture” them. Typical targets include university professors and scientists, media executives and reporters, and corporate and political leaders.
Within a decade of opening relations with China in 1972, the Chinese began wooing American businesses to set up shop in China, offering a cheap labor manufacturing platform and the promise of access to a large market. Fast forward to today and we find that industry leading American companies such as Apple, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco, 3M, Wal-Mart, Hasbro, Mattel, Gap, Nike, and many others now manufacture far more of their products in China than anywhere else. We learned through the COVID-19 experience that 80 percent of the basic components known as active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), come from China. All companies doing business in China have learned to remain silent and not criticize the CCP, especially regarding corruption in government and human rights violations, such as the persecutions and forced labor of the Uyghurs in Xinjiang and the Tibetans in Xizang.

They even captured Joey and his whole regime in DC.
Joey and Mitch, right at the top.
They have captured a hell of a lot more than Joey and his regime. 30 plus Trillion in debt, with China owning most of that debt, puts them in charge of everything. With Washington as their overseers.
How can people be so weak and stupid? I mean, these “elites” are high-functioning people, many of whom are inventors or innovators. They have created fortunes, many of them, around great, unique ideas.
And then they roll over - happily, joyfully - for the Communists.
When I was a lot younger I had a lot of leftist friends. Since they were my friends, I tried to stay out of arguments with them about ideology because I was never really that leftist; I agreed with only part of it at best.
But I had to TRY not to argue with them because so much of what they believed - with a zeal more keen than the average Xtian evangelist’s - was to my mind sheer stupidity. On the rare occasion I DID try to argue, the person (who unlike me had been to college and so went around with a purse full of leftist arguments at the ready) it would sound like I was getting the beat-down I deserved for liking H1tler.
I was just a stupid kid, but communism sounded stupid to me. Others ridiculed me for finding fault with it. My boss and coworkers sneered at me for criticizing the Democrats, and so on - and that’s when I voted for Democrats on occasion.
So how do all these bright, youthful, high-IQ elites get snagged into it?
Yes: Money talks. The hypocritical communists always have a lot of cash to throw around to assure compliance, don’t they? (And how much of it is because of their shady dealings with our current “president,” I wonder?)
I think we should tell China to go get stuffed and default on that debt while we still have more weapons than they do. (We DO have more weapons still, right?)
A politician is so much cheaper than a battle tank.
For one thing, their egotism. For another, ideologies are strands of ideas. Ideas are not of this physical realm but of the immaterial, the unseen. Thus the consequences within ideologies are unseen, hence unknown to those who embrace them.
And why do they embrace them? Because ideologies resonate with some instability, some darkness, within the soul. Perhaps, for instance, it's power, control, domination. Whatever it is it reaches into the soul and takes control.
How blessed you were that the 'stupidity' of the ideologies religiously embraced by your leftist friends was apparent to you.

Biden’s significant China tour after 32 years
2011-08-17 05:22
by Wu Liming
BEIJING, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) — U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will visit China on Wednesday, 32 years after he first came to China as a member of the first U.S. delegation following the normalization of China-U.S. relations.
Biden has witnessed the ups and downs of the bilateral ties between the two countries over the past three decades and more. When he set foot on China in 1979, the two countries had just ended decades of hostility and signed a joint communique establishing diplomatic relations, setting the cornerstone for bilateral ties.
By the time Chinese President Hu Jintao visited the United States in January this year, the relationship between both countries had grown into a cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and common interest.
Biden’s current visit to China may well be considered a continuation and extension of his China tour 32 years ago. It is a relay of the drive to deepening the U.S.-China relations.
“A rising China is a positive, positive development, not only for China but for America and the world writ large,” wrote Biden 32 years ago as a young member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Addressing the opening session of the U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue in May, Biden said he still maintained his words from over three decades ago.
Thanks to the efforts from both sides, China-U.S.relations have gained tremendous momentum in the 21st century. Bilateral cooperation have extended to a wide range of fields including politics, economy, science, culture and other major international and regional issues.
Just as Biden himself put it, “It’s no exaggeration to say that our relationship and how we manage it will help shape the 21st century.”
The United States and China are the first and second biggest economies in the world, with close economic ties.
According to U.S. statistics, the United States exported over 110 billion U.S. dollars’ worth of goods and service to China last year, which helped to create more than 500,000 jobs in the United States.
With a combined share of one-third of the world’s economy and one-fifth of the world’s trade volume, China and the United States share ties that go beyond their boundaries and have profound global impact.
The international community would be more than happy to see China and the United States join hands to tackle global challenges and strive for a robust, sustainable and balanced world economy.
Exchange of high-level visits across the Pacific Ocean had served to promote China-U.S. relations. The New York Times said in a recent article that Biden’s coming China tour is aimed primarily to consolidate ties with the Chinese leadership.
It is true that China and the United States have differences. However, the two countries’ common interest far outweighs their differences. Or as Biden put it, “We have much more to agree on than to disagree on.”
If they adhere to the principle of equality and mutual respect, the two countries will be able to broaden their common ground and manage to handle properly the thorny issues between them.
As the United States’ largest foreign creditor, China has much at stake over U.S. economic policy changes and a stable U.S. dollar. Therefore, Washintong’s handling of all the related issues in a responsible manner will contribute to the steady growth of China-U.S. ties and the stable development of the world economy given the mounting concern about European and U.S. debt woes and fragile global economic recovery.

Sickening.
I don’t think it’s that complicated. It starts out looking like a good idea - they get rich, you get rich. Next thing, you’re in over your head. They never wanted to get “rich” - they wanted you. They use blackmail, too. Look at Hunter. It’s cheaper than paying.
I have been thinking, lately, that the trap has been dawning on some of the “elites”, as well. I could not explain what they were doing in NATO and the Ukraine. Now, I think they began to see that they needed a hedge against the monster they had created in China.
A modern M1 Abrams tank is about $6 million per tank. Just about all politicians have WAY more than that
Defaulting would sound good, except we are dependent upon the supply of nearly everything from China. Think of the companies and industries which would suddenly collapse right here.
There has certainly been “elite capture” of the business elite by the Chinese.
However, blaming China for “the woke normalization of censorship, cancel culture, division, unequal justice, and depravity” is incorrect.
All those things are the result of “elite capture” by the wave of Central European leftist immigrants before and after WW II who went on to capture the faculties of US universities.
Yep. And our federal law enforcement, DOJ, intelligence, and national security apparatus have very little interest in rooting this out, preventing it, or offering support to ‘elites’ who may find themselves a target. I guess we don’t know what happens under the veil of opsec within the alphabet agencies, but they almost seem complicit in the whole thing based on lack of any evidence of trying, which makes you wonder what elites inside our bureaucracies have been ‘captured’.
All those things are the result of “elite capture” by the wave of Central European leftist immigrants before and after WW II who went on to capture the faculties of US universities.
The idea the ChiComs would not see the opportunities of such an ideology to weaken the USA is naive.
Of course the Chinese would promote "wokeness" in the USA.
At least in the case of depravity, the influence has gone the other way, with China legalizing homosexuality in 1997 under Western influences.
That ‘legalizing’ was a mistake when the one child policy revealed their demographics will collapse.
