Zeldin ran a great campaign and was still a very, very long shot even against a crappy opponent. NYC carries the state. And they vote for whatever has a D next to the name.

Atlas has shrugged in NYS. The moochers and the looters outnumber and have overwhelmed the producers.

I am moving out 5 minutes after I retire in a couple of years

Why would you move? Where else can one be pushed onto train tracks *and* be charged $23 to drive down a city’s streets?

I’m up in the Finger Lakes region…..its quite nice. The only drawback is it’s in NYS.

Red-NYS, but NYS nonetheless.

It’s a beautiful part of the state. If you’re a fisherman it’s close to heaven on earth

I don’t think anyone counts any of our votes.

The whole thing is a faction.

Fraud here, Fraud there, Fraud every where so it is claimed
and yet nothing gets down about it.

If Fraud is such a way to get what you want them Pubbies need
to learn how to use it to compete. If not and they can’t stop the
dems from using it then bitching all the time isn’t going to put
a halt to it. JMO yours may vary as is your right.......

“faction” should be “fiction”.

“the Curley Effect”

The Curley Effect
Edward L. Glaeser and Andrei Shleifer
NBER Working Paper No. 8942
May 2002
JEL No. D70, D72, H4

ABSTRACT
James Michael Curley, a four-time mayor of Boston, used wasteful redistribution to his poor Irish
constituents and incendiary rhetoric to encourage richer citizens to emigrate from Boston, thereby shaping
the electorate in his favor. Boston as a consequence stagnated, but Curley kept winning elections. We
present a model of the Curley effect, in which inefficient redistributive policies are sought not by interest
groups protecting their rents, but by incumbent politicians trying to shape the electorate through
emigration of their opponents or reinforcement of class identities. The model sheds light on ethnic
politics in the United States and abroad, as well as on class politics in many countries including Britain

It’s just a website with incorrectly configured pop-ups, it doesn’t control the election.
