Fire Erupts at El Segundo[CA] Chevron Refinery

A fire broke out at the El Segundo Chevron refinery Tuesday night.

Firefighters were battling the stubborn blaze at 7 p.m.

The refinery is located at 324 W El Segundo Blvd., and covers approximately 1,000 acres.

It wasn't immediately clear what initially ignited the fire.

I used to work in those refineries down there, they said El Segundo processes all the offloaded crude and it goes by pipeline to the other refineries

I can remember having to drop everything and run a few times , usually a Cracking Tower flameout.

I used to think the refineries would have been a great terrorist target back in the ol terrorism boogeyman days, now we just get russiarussiarussia boogeymans
