In preparation for upcoming Tuesday’s midterm election, the National Guard will be activating cybersecurity teams in 14 states to assist in keeping election authorities’ networks secure from cyber attacks and from any malicious activities, Politico reported.
“The move is part of a wider effort to ensure the midterms are secure from cybersecurity threats, which have loomed large in recent years since Russian interference operations in 2016,” the outlet added.
During a press conference on Friday, Washington Air National Guard Brig. Gen. Gent Welsh said, “One of the things making a lot of this possible are states that’ve just decided to do it.”
“Not everyone’s doing it, and those that are have invested in cyber talent and cyber missions for years. If you don’t have a cyber unit in your state you’re not in a good position to help them protect elections,” he added.
The 14 states with National Guard teams on duty on election day are North Carolina, Arizona, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana, New Mexico, New York, Washington, and West Virginia.

Well if our leading candidates lose in those states, well I’m note going to say what would be on everyone’s mind about the NG showing up……….
IMO, you are not off base. Rank and file NG troops are not likely a problem, but the command structure might be.
From wikipedia:
“The state National Guard is organized into units stationed in each of the 50 states, three territories, and the District of Columbia, and operates under their respective STATE OR TERRITORIAL GOVERNOR, except in the instance of Washington, D.C., where the National Guard operates under the PRESIDENT of the United States or his designee.”
Now governors and Presidents wouldn’t stoop to politics in making appontments and “operating”, would they...?
Fraudsters can be shot? Can others join in and help out?
Right. I know there are still plenty of good people in the military, but it is the leadership I distrust the most.

“The decision to have teams ready for support has become a familiar one over the past few elections after the reports of Russian interference operations during the 2016 presidential election.”
You got that?
2016 - Russian hacked the election for DJT.
2020 - Most secure election ever and no machines connected to the internet.
2022 - we need the NG to protect the election from cyber attack. It’s a threat to Our Democracy.
I think that is the result of the purge that began in the Obama Administration. Many people with military experience have told me (both here and elsewhere) that was their observation as well.
Bitt, what is your take on this?…Thanks
And thank you for your service.
My dad was a 30-year Naval Officer as well, and I am glad he didn’t live to see this.
The fox is guarding the henhouse.
We know what that means...
You should. the DHS cybersecurity group and the DoD were together mucking around in the elections from 2016 (and presumably the DoD and CIA before that).
The NG in 14 specific states shows where they think they need to do the really heavy lifting.
IOW, oversee a miraculous turn of events where the bidenettes somehow pull it out? 🤔🐎💩.
Left out are Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona. 🤔
Are you controlled oppo — or just gigantically naive?
But wait, there’s more;
National Guard officials will work and receive security updates from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), the key agency tasked with protecting election infrastructure against cyber threats, according to Politico.
Head of CISA; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jen_Easterly
Easterly was deployed to Baghdad as chief of the cryptologic services group for the National Security Agency. She also worked for NSA’s elite Tailored Access Operations.[13]
From 2009 to 2010, Easterly served on the United States Cyber Command, which she helped establish.[13] From 2010 to 2011, Easterly was a cyber advisor for the NSA stationed in Kabul. After retiring from the Army as a lieutenant colonel, she served as deputy director of the NSA for counterterrorism from May 2011 to October 2013.[14] From October 2013 to February 2016, Easterly was a special assistant to President Barack Obama and senior director for counterterrorism on the National Security Council. After the end of the Obama administration, Easterly joined Morgan Stanley as global head of the company’s cybersecurity division.[15][16]

They will be used to protect the THIEVES from being detected.
“CIA” that says it all. That organization should have been disbanded years ago. They have caused almost ever war since the end of World War 2.
The reason democrat’s butt boys in the MSM are pushing the lie about ‘ticket splitting’ is because democrat fraud can only be done when the race is within the ‘margin of error’.
So the corrupt liberal ‘elite’ press is pushing the lie that in a polarized country Republicans will elect a person at the top of a ticket (with a big edge) and not vote for Republican further down ticket?
I’M NOT an ‘election denier’ I’m a person who believes democrats will cheat an election if they can get away with it.
The corrupt white liberal ‘elite’ press is also pushing the lie that in a country as polarized as ours - that Republicans will split their tickets.
We won’t.
That’s a lie to cover for down ticket fraud by democrats.
